There is also the 3 other files I have no clue what to do with, the .md5 .sfv and .sha

Thank you, I guess one gets jaded after a while, seeing noob questions all the time, or do you need to keep your post count up ?
cos I fail to see how this might be helpful, I look at the page trying to see if there is something that relates to my question.

Should I just copy the files from the torrent to a stick without using power iso ?

Thanks.

To make a copy of your Windows ISO file:

1. Click the Windows START button, and click WINDOWS USB/DVD DOWNLOAD TOOL in the ALL PROGRAMS list to open the Windows USB/DVD Download Tool.

2. In the SOURCE FILE box, type the name and path of your Windows ISO file, or click BROWSE and select the file from the OPEN dialog box. Click NEXT.

3. Select USB DEVICE to create a copy on a USB flash drive or select DVD disk to create a copy on a DVD disk.

4. If you are copying the file to a USB flash drive, select your USB device in the drop-down list and click BEGIN COPYING. If you are copying the file up to a DVD, click BEGIN BURNING.

When your Windows ISO file is copied to your drive, install Windows by moving to the root folder of your DVD or USB drive, and then double-click Setup.exe.

The title of this thread is "win10_pro_1511", this is a reference to a pre authenticated win10 torrent on TPB. It has no instructions and that is what I am asking for.

"So I mount the .iso" means I mount the .iso from that torrent to an usb stick using at current point in time, ultra iso. Thus I do not need to download one from microsoft, if I wanted to I already have the MediaCreationTool to grab a fresh win 10 iso. but then I am still stuck without an activated OS (witch is my current problem).

"There is also the 3 other files" is referring to the 3 extra files in that torrent, not counting the two TEAM OS shortcuts.

I so fail to see how any of what I write translates in to - 'how do I download windows'

I am so very sorry if I was not clear enough b4, I am as you all can see from my post counter new to this forum I may need to learn how to ask questions in a way to make myself understood.

"win10_pro_1511" refers to a build number of Windows and gives no indication that you want to use an operating system that has been tampered with rather than a genuine setup straight from Microsoft.

If you would prefer to use legitimate media then simply do this:

1) Download http://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=691209

2) Run MediaCreationTool.exe and pick your Windows version and language.

3) Create the iso or bootable usb, the options in MediaCreationTool.exe after downloading.

4) Install.

5) Download http://www.officialmicrosofttoolkit.com/

6) Run activator and activate.

If you already have Windows 10 installed then just use the activator on your existing setup.

Quite why your mounting an iso via a program installed on windows then expecting the program to still be mounted when the os is being removed is a mystery.

I have bought win 95, win 98, win xp 2 times if not 3, win 97 and upgraded to win 10 for free. When I rebuilt my system just now it wants activation and I can no longer find my product key.
I feel like I have to buy a new car cos I lost the key.
* and win 7 then I upgraded that one to win 10 * Long and hot day.

With TPB there is no such thing as pay for a lost key!

.md5 and .sha (SHA-1) are text files (Can be opened with any text editor, e.g: NotePad). Checksum values given by the uploader for you to compare to the associated file to verify its authenticity.

The SHA-1 hash is rarely used nowadays.

.sfv (Simple File Verification) is the same.

Link to the .iso and things will become clear for us willing to help Wink

Some night-time reading:

SHA-1

As for the missing drivers issue. When you get that on message screen. Pull out the USB. Plug it back into another, different USB port if possible, and re-cycle.

It's a common bug. But simple to circumvent.

Good thing it ain't used because the NSA came up with it. The driver issue can be fixed by letting the computer install then automatically, it is somewhere.
