Is anyone else having trouble accessing The Pirate Bay via i2p using tpb.i2p? Also, what’s the most secure way to seed and download files on The Pirate Bay? I’m considering Tor, i2p, or a VPN, but I’ve heard concerns about the usage of Tor and torrenting. Can anyone explain why Tor might not be the best option? And does anyone know if there’s an alternative i2p URL for accessing The Pirate Bay or if their i2p service has been shut down?
Thank you in advance

Perhaps I'm wrong but as far as I know, tor only protects your browser activity and not any other app or activity you're using.

Its possible to only start the tor service and redirect all traffic over tor

Please do not use Tor to download torrents. The Tor network is run entirely on volunteer bandwidth and it's already quite slow just for normal usage. Downloading torrents over Tor will just ruin the experience for everyone.

Use TOR browser to access TPB (onion link in the footer of every forum page here). IF paranoid use the VPN of your choice for the actual torrenting- you have to pay for it kinda like condoms

It's an old discussion and some people even suggested they use VPN to access TOR to access another VPN then...
Also old is the talk about "real safe" on the internet - drive by's and hitching wifi's, forging MAC's, etc.
What is clear: No single solution makes you really invisible to the NSA or Pakistani hackers. Yep, that includes i2p.

How?? Is there a different client outside of the browser?
I mostly use Tribler ( https://www.tribler.org/) for censorship busting. When I need to download a torrent I use a free vpn which normally gives me 10 to 20 gigs each month.
When I need more than that, I take my phone and use a government office or bank's free wifi. Often they'll block the port so you might need to know how to work around that.
OR... just go to another location because 50% of the time their network was set up by a moron and nothing is blocked.

You can send any TCP data over Tor. Tor is not just a collection of some hidden websites ,its a whole hidden network.
And I did some of my own research. The problem lies inside the design of the protocol. When u use Tor w torrents correctly it may improve it a little bit, BUT it will never be as safe like browsing on some hidden sites.
But I was more curious about enhancing the privacy while using torrents than actual using tor/i2p/vpn with torrent, bc I want always to learn some new things.
But I still hope someone finds out a working i2p link, or that tpb will reopen its old i2p link. I think/hope that one day i2p will replace the onion router.

I'm really curious and I'm missing something.
Is there a setting in the Tor browser or a specialized software to do more than browse websites?
