I use torrents, but sometimes I find it easier just to download a movie directly from a web site like putlocker, and other websites like it. The problems are sometimes my downloader won't download the movie. I'm using firefox, and have used netvideohunter for example. I even made a list of videos it doesn't work with.
But before I do that, another thing is sometimes these sites are full of adware/drive by downloads, etc. I use sandboxie, but sometimes I have problems downloading through it.

Why not try and pirate KeepVid Pro?

Use Internet Download Manager. It's very good and it supports most mainstream web browser. https://www.internetdownloadmanager.com/
There are others, like Xtreme Download Manager. This one is programmed in Java, but works very well. http://xdman.sourceforge.net/
These names are pretty generic, but the software associated with those names are expert-made.
Hope this helps.

You find it easier?
To download movies from sites full of fakes and malware, which offer no user support?

Well, to each his own, Sid.
If he says it's easier, it is.

That's why I use sandboxie, to avoid fakes and malware, it sometimes takes some search, but I'll find the movie I want, a lot easier to download it through the web on the site than wait for a torrent to download it. Unless of course the thing I download to my PC has malware in it. I think, though, there may be a way to keep that in the sandbox as well.

thesnare, the argument seems to be you're not sharing (i.e. seeding) the movie.
For that, Sid is right.
However, it is efficient if you're stuck with an ISP that caps your bandwidth.
I use both.
EDIT: And oh, always pack an antivirus when going to some sites.

I don't understand where you get that argument from but it certainly isn't me--I don't care whether he shares or not.
I am merely bemused that he claims that subjecting himself to malware laced sites, suffering regular incomplete downloads, and having to download everything to a sandbox to check it out is "easier" than searching for a torrent with a skull beside it on TPB and clicking on a magnet link.
"Faster", I could somewhat understand but nothing about what he is doing is "easier".

I assume that you're just referring to The Pirate Bay, and not its competitors?

Any moderated torrent site will be similar. Particularly as he is explicitly referring to movies rather than to anything executable.
The complicating factor with direct download sites is that they are all totally unmoderated. Fakes, malware and interrupted downloads abound.
It is easier to find legit movies on torrent sites, and it is easier to download them since any broken downloads can be resumed at any time and file integrity is guaranteed.
