I guess my dilemma is that when I walk into a shop these days, everything is in unorganised piles of "bargain bins." They're cheap, I give them that, but it's full of stuff I don't want.
Now, if they organised it, and have artists I listen to, like Tchaikovsky, Bob Marley, or U2, (I vary my taste in music), I might just spend a few dollars.
Until then, I'll go to the library and rip those CDs.

I often buy music cd of artists I like. As this is the best way to support them. Most of my fav. artists I came across is actually via pirating. These days I also have itunes sub. But you know the deal, they are toddler before cdrips.

I don't download music anymore now, I just buy the CD instead and buy the retail. The reason why is because most of these downloads these days are all WEB rips and they are no good. They contain ripping errors and people make a mess of them for some reason. I don't like WEB rips so I just buy the actual CD instead and then I can rip it myself. I can do a proper job because I'm old school and I know what I'm doing and I use the best program and I take the music directly from a CD at the highest standard and then I can encode it into mp3 or Flac or whatever I choose.
If I like something then most likely these days I just buy the thing and order it. I don't even bother with rutracker.org anymore because a while ago there used to be good rips but all this WEB sourcing sucks and the sound quality is bad and they are not done properly when you listen to them.

It seems that the only thing people buy these days, is digital downloads.

No, I don't. I'm listening to music on Spotify and haven't purchased any CDs for 10 years.
