Problems Uploading Torrents/Corrupted Torrent?
#1
Hi, I only started creating and uploading torrents recently after downloading/seeding for years. My first torrents (music files) created and uploaded a month ago went without issues and I'm still seeding. Few days ago I created my first movie torrent and uploaded it. Everything seemed fine, however, the torrent got "corrupted" and I've been having the same issue since then. When I create a torrent it seeds without issue, including after I've posted it to TPB. But after closing BitTorrent and starting it again, like after switching off my PC there is an error message in BitTorrent which says files missing, re-check. I've tried re-checking and removing and re-loading the torrent, as well as creating new torrents but it always ends up with the same issue. The files in the torrent are replaced with a single file who's name is apparently the Info Hash, the torrents name in the name field also changes to the Info Hash which looks something like this:
1b3210ba49e042ff6dda6572306d1743a0d19d6fedda6321d6f07e94b5

I've been having issues lately with BitTorrent where after I've removed/deleted a finished torrent and it's files the torrent shows up again next time/start in my BitTorrent with obviously the error message files missing. I've uninstalled and reinstalled BitTorrent, but no solution.

Any idea what's going on here?

Which version (and build) of BitTorrent are you using?

The latest, 7.8.2 (Build 30587) [32 Bit]

I have Windows 64-Bit might that be the issue? I doubt it since it wasn't an issue in the past. I don't understand why it wasn't an issue a month ago when creating torrents but is now. The torrents I created back then are still running fine. I can understand it saying files missing, or asking to re-check if you change the files, like info tag in mp3 files. But that isn't the case with movie files. Besides I haven't changed anything in the files.

By the way I created the torrents as encrytped, same for the previous working ones.

If you want to see what one of the "corrupted" torrents looks like:

I seem to have figured out what the problem was. I checked the "create encrypted" option in the create torrent dialogue. That seems to have been the issue. With that option unchecked it's working again.

You're right. I was totally unaware of that feature (it has only just been introduced, there doesn't appear to be any documentation, it doesn't work, and I'd given up on BitTorrent/uTorrent a year or so back anyway).

Thank you for letting us know. I've seen a few torrents like that over the past couple of months and never had figured out wtf.
