Windows 8.1 or 7?
#21
Classic shell, reg tweaks, unwanted tiles etc.

Why the fuck would anyone want to install an Alpha (And i use that term losely) operating system. It was developed for Metro. It was even a fuck up on Metro.

Wait for 9 so we can argue/discuss about how 8/8.1 was so shit.

And then argue why 9 is no better. Even with its' "classic shell"??

IMO, XP or 7.

Agreed. This computer runs 7 Ultimate, my last computer was XP (and I love XP). My son has 8.1 on his computer, which is cool, it fits because he has touch screen technology. My computer does not. I will never run Windows 8 and a non touch screen monitor. It's not a big deal, but I just won't 8.1 was made for touch...

That's why you get StarDocks8 that puts the start menu button and makes it look just like all the other windows start area.

Retired XP user, went to Win8.1 and I am pretty surprised with it, with a few tweaks (not many and without 3rd party software) was able to achieve great performance from it, sure it's uses a little bit more ram than Windows XP but not much, had a few probs with the sound drivers (external soundboard), but this one it's my fault due to the age of the device, which is no longer supported. Of course the performance depends on the hardware you're using.

Yeah, I also hated the metro interface lol, eventually I started playing with it and adapted to it, now I quite enjoy it. Still, I can't wait for windows 9 with that "old school" start menu.
