Windows 7 Install
#1
Hi I recently did a clean wipe of my laptop and planned to install Windows 7 on it. I used a Win. 7 Ultimate SP1 32-bit torrent for this. I was able to install Windows but I'm not able to connect to the internet to download the drivers needed. What do I do?? Please help
Thanks in advance

You need to know and install the network driver on your laptop. This is because the network "card" (I'll just call it a card; I don't have a laptop and I'm too accustomed to a big-ass desktop Smile) has to the Internet at the very least to download your drivers. Tell me how it works.

Of course, assuming that you have a spare computer, you can use that to download the drivers and transport sneakernet onto the laptop so you can install them and you will be laughing.

Hope this helps, and tell me how it goes.

You can install it with the CD/DVD Drivers which are included when purchasing a laptop.

First thing you should do is, give us the Brand and Model of the laptop, we cannot guess what's built-in your laptop... Without this, it's just a shot in the dark for us...

There should be a rj45 connector on the laptop so connect that straight to your router to get the wi-fi driver.

There are like three different (counting mines) words of advice, but I don't think the OP would know which one to follow.

In this case, the OP should get down to more detail. extragoodness, if you're still stuck, we need more.

Hey everyone sorry the laptop is a Toshiba C55D-B5310. I took RobertX's advice and did that. It worked for the most part, the only thing was several of the drivers wouldn't install I'm not sure why. The ones immediately I could notice was the driver for the HDMI port, after testing it on a TV it didn't work. Also the driver to adjust display settings like brightness. Those were some but there were several others

Please tell us the drivers that don't work and which version they are. Also, tell us where you got them.

This way, we can do your homework for you. Big Grin

I got them off of the Toshiba website. I would have to get back to you on that since I'll have to redownload and try them all again because I didn't keep note.

Not sure if that was sarcastic haha but either way thanks a lot for being so eager to help honestly! Never had that on any forum before

Edit: It's likely my friend will just buy Windows because they don't wanna have to deal with the hassle. So might not be trying anything else, if so thanks again everyone (especially RobertX) for the advice and suggests, much appreciated
