#1
Hello when we usually download movie from torrent. There will always be mentioned 720p or 1080p with tags Shaanig.
But what does 720p and 1080p really mean, i am really little confused.
Any body suggestion is welcomed.

720p means a maximum resolution of 1280 pixels of width and 720 pixels of height. either value can be reduced to accomodate correct aspect ratio. for 1080p, apply same principle but replace 1280 with 1920 and 720 with 1080.

They're types of resolution.

The bigger the resolution they are, the less likely they they will appear pixelated when in full screen mode.

Take 720p and 1080p. 1080p is a bigger resolution file than 720p. 1080p has a clearer picture when in full screen mode than 720p.

Of course, the trade-off is that it can lag or have a bigger file size for the higher resolution file.

Hope this helps.

EDIT: Oops, bob5695 just beat me to it.

@bob5695 & @RobertX: Thank you for the explaination. hmmm
I noticed that too, the 1080p movies are larger in size and appear clearer.
Thank you for clearing that out. It helped a lot.
