Open command prompt as administrator and type the following command EXACTLY, then hit enter:

Code:
sfc /scannow

This should scan all protected files etc and repair/replace any which are damaged.

THANKS NELLY,i did as you suggested and the end details were: windows resource protection found corrupt files but were unable to fix some of them. refer CBS log lile. i opened the log and could not comprehend any of the info. it did not fix the restore problem, only made me use the "remove wat" again ha ha!! anyway thanks for your interest. Hey try to repair the system with boo-table disk. It may be possible that some virus or malware corrupted the system restore point. Try third party restoring software like Faronics Deep Freeze. Hope you will not face such problem in future.

You can always try restoring your system by using any repair disc that you have got .If you don't have any repair discs then try windows genuine disc for example the windows 7 one .Boot PC from your disc, then you will get an option like repair your computer.

There are many other options you can find like restore your system from the image you have created, system restore from restore points etc. This will be much more helpful and easier than the direct restore .This article below is really worth reading and i strongly recommend it for you.

Check restore points

good luck Cool

Hi FRIEND, sorry late reply been out of town. will for sure try your comments. on your 1st photo you will note no provision for "repair system files" i'm sure the problem is with corrupt files that sfc /scannow stated but could not fix. i d'loaded your link, will do tomorrow and let you know results. thanks again, tommoSmile
