Trouble with Connecting a Three-Pin Power LED Connector to the Motherboard
#1
OK, just read the manual of the ASUS Prime A320M-K motherboard, and I found out that the Power LED of the front panel connectors cannot be used because it is has one more pin. The last time I had to deal with this was with my Intel D865Perl motherboard, and that problem was solved: there was another port on that motherboard that accept the extra prong, but not with this one.

I know I keep asking questions recently, and I apologise, but these problems keep coming up.

So is there a way, a port on the motherboard that does what the Intel motherboard did and will solve that problem?

Sorry for delaying getting back to you Robert I have been very busy.

Short and sweet answer, just try and take the plug end off if you can very carefully and plug the wires with gold or metal contacts onto the relevant wires, attach a photograph if possible?

Also the manual is not very good doesn't show much information for the system panel, it is very basic.

I think we need to know more about your chassi than the motherboard. the motherboard has the standard front_panel pins, so I dont know why your chassi needs a third one

Edit 1: Seems like there are different kind of configurations, Which of these 2 are on your motherboard?

Well, I haven't bought one yet. I'm just anticipating the problem as of now before buying one; that way, I don't come home with a board I can't use.

Have you not thought about that maybe if you did some clever searching you might be able to find an adapter on ebay and find something where you can go from a 3 pin to a 2 pin and plug it in that way, maybe something on ebay would be the place where it's possible and somebody has already thought about this problem and produced some kind of adapter so you can manage this kind of problem?  Sounds like a logical idea to me, all you need is just one thing that plugs into the board and then your connector goes on there?

I know that a lot of these kind of ideas all come from China and many people over in China have already invented the solution to these problems you might have to order something and wait a couple of weeks for it to arrive, something which is probably very basic like a piece of tiny plastic but yet so essential...

Don't try that shit attitude on me, Rod; of course I searched, but there were no adaptors, even on E-Bay.

Had I found one, I would not be asking here, of all places.

If you don't want to help me, don't answer.

i agree with Q91, i think standard front_panel pins only two of them...
also standard led pins only two connector (+) (-), if there are three connector, maybe it just (+) (+) (-) and it is doesn't matter if you only connecting it with two connector slot...
look sign at motherboard, usually it have plus/minus sign so you be able to correct connecting it and your front panel LED will be lights on...

Check out the Robert with the short temper I said nothing really, just nothing at all...

Now possible Robert that your thread here might get removed in certain places for people here don't know when to say the right thing or not... oh well sod all to do with me anyway...

I think next time I'll order a Pizza instead and enjoy that rather than trying to help you fix all your problems all the time...

You didn't really answer me either... are you buying a new chassi too?

based on the Intel motherboard you had mentioned before, it should be the exact same, so if you're going to use the same Chassi, then there shouldn't be any problems.

Either that, or stop buying shite Chassis

No, I haven't; I'm trying to hold on to the old chassis that I have.

And Rod just messaged me, calling me a wanker, go fuck yourself.
