By some weird coincidence I happen to have watched S04E01 of Black Mirror and the first episode of The Orville in the past couple of days, both of which are takes on Star Trek.
If you're not aware, Black Mirror is an anthology series which is well worth checking out; and The Orville is a Seth Familyguy live action Star Trek inspired comedy that probably isn't.

He could see the outside of the shuttle, Voyager, the inside of the ship, and the sickbay. For a moment, he was everywhere, with the Kazon, the Klingons, on Earth, and he even saw other galaxies. He says it wasn't like anything he has ever experienced. According to Paris, he only returned because he noticed that the crew was looking for him.
That one always bugged me as the episode is placed in a Season 2 while the entire show lasted 7 Seasons.
They broke the Warp 10 barrier, they found out it was not safe to use as Tom Paris' body underwent accelerated evolution. He kidnapped Captain Janeway and ran. They were found on a remote planet, fully evolved into a form of amphibian-like creatures. The Doctor was able to revert them to their Human state by destroying the "evolved" DNA with anti-proton radiation treatments and... That was it. A footnote in the Ship's Logs.
That is, rightfully so, considered to be the worst Star Trek episode ever. It's just awful. Not to mention all the idiocy in the episode itself is that they just completely ignored the fact that Paris created pretty much the most important invention ever in the history of starfleet. While being alone in another quadrant of the galaxy no less. And then it was totally forgotten by everyone.
And it was totally safe to use, because the Doc figured out a way to reverse the process in about 3 minutes, so the whole process could be done safely. Even with the mutations.
It's terrible for about a million reasons. Voyager is by far the worst Star Trek show ever, and just a bad show overall.

It will feature a woman in a lead role, but she will not follow tradition by not being a captain.
And it's set in a decade before the Original Series.
So far this is turning out to be a good series. Hope they keep up the good work.

I wouldn't say it's good yet, though it could be. But it's better than Voyager!

I did like the Voyager theme music better than Discovery though.

I have a question: if Michael Dorn didn't sign on to lend his character on First Contact, Insurrection, or any Trek movie that happens at the same time the Worf character is living on Deep Space Nine, would the movies be worth watching?

This sounds interesting:
https://www.cbsnews.com/news/patrick-ste...ll-access/
Quote:CBS announced Saturday that Patrick Stewart will reprise his iconic role of Jean-Luc Picard in a new "Star Trek" series. It will be streamed on CBS All Access.
The still-unnamed series will explore the "next chapter" of Picard's life.

Wow, that's great!
Exactly what I'm looking for; I was hoping that they would do something like that before it's too late.
