My computer is beyond slow.   I need a good program to do a good cleaning.   Any suggestions?

Seriously.... with what you wrote, people will start telling you to do all kinds of things, clean you temporary files, clean your registry, defrag you HDD, have you tried turning it off and on?

Clean up programs sucks, they do more harm than good, unless you know what you're supposed to get rid of and you're doing it manually.

Open task manager (or get Process Explorer) and see if there's something in there with a high CPU Usage, RAM usage, also check GPU Usage. Would be also useful to now your system specs.

Agreed!  Clean up programs are useless unless you know what you are cleaning up.  Never use them!  You are better off trying to figure out why it's slow.  Most cases, something is using up your CPU/RAM/HDD.  Figure that out (as suggested above) using process explorer.

Stay away from the System Speed Boost programs too....they are completely useless as well.

Thanks for the ProcessExplorer , Much better than the Task Manager.

Does upgrading RAM help in this person's case?

If the reason for slowness is swapping, then yes. But that detail wasn't shared.
