I haven't checked the VHS to blu-ray shot for shot, but I can tell you there's at least one line that, for some reason, didn't make it past the VHS. When Batman first escapes the Joker, The Joker asks "Where does he get such wonderful toys ?" Then, there's a harsh edit, and everyone's chasing Batman. In the VHS version, the Joker says "Well ? GO AND ASK HIM !!!"

It's such a little thing, but if it's what you're into, you can find thousands and thousands of little cuts like that that never make it to the "good" version. I think Problem Child had like 12 minutes that didn't make it from the VHS to the DVD.

You can learn all about stuff like this if you search for it. Or you can ignore it. It's not for everyone. Nobody forces anyone to watch Shibby's edits and the edits of others like him.

I also enjoy fanedits like the one where they took all three Hobbit movies, and cut out EVERYTHING that wasn't in the book, making it into the ONE movie many of us wish it had been.

There's an episode of Star Trek TNG where Scotty guest stars. When he first arrives, the current engineer is a huge douche to him for the first half of the episode. There's no real reason. Some hero cut four minutes out of the episode, and you'd never know about that "sub plot".

There's an episode of Voyager where someone cuts out a random romance that had nothing to do with the episode.

Things like that are what I adore.

Someone changed the order of some scenes in "Passengers" and it made Chris Pratt's character more of a bad guy and less of a tragic victim, just because of the order you see them in.

Either you're into it, or you aren't. People don't have to all like the same things.

Hello,

@RPWWE

Thanks for backing me up a tad.

Not talking Quality more Content thats why I care for VHS Versions over the NEW STUFF

As for the "REAL MOVIES" getting changed IMO is a real pain in the ass, and i feel that it changed the way you view or interpret said film in any form that they change it.

Now the fan edits you speak of ..............

YES! some editiors are really good at what they do (I can give a list of FE NAMES) and I enjoy the fan edits so much ...... in fact i have like 300 of them (NO SHIT)

The only problem with Fan Edits is you need to know the intent of the edit so you know what your getting into  ........ Like i saw (don't have) a Star Trek TNG Ep set up like a sitcom ......... that was a neat idea IMO ..... only prblem was the Canned laffter that used kinda took me out of what the intent was ...... or how about Planet of the Apes made into a 25min Twilight Zone Episode

The List goes on and on  when we are talking about Fan Edits , i tried to offer a bunch of them at one time, but I guess this LOT not to much into anything that isn't RIFFTRAX or Horror Host Based

Well I have a few Fan Edits in the fire I might do  ......... but first I have to finish this 5 Doctors  ......... Tweak a few things in Chapter One & Two  then move on to the other chapters ...........

I just wish you gave a "TOSS" about Doctor Who to check it out to tell me if its GOOD BAD or just FUCKING UGLY .......lmao

Here is a view of the Coverart (yes i made that, based on the Golden Book Video Covers of the 80s, see back to intent) if you care to see https://mega.nz/#F!rEdHlILQ!4Zh_VCiRLZ-iBUoHdGrKUQ

Love some feedback

Thanks,
Shibby

@ DP

This is just a side note and something to think about but when i was younger on a Friday/Saturday night i use to goto the video store and cruse up and down the isles look for a new movie to watch ...... and one of the thigs i use to enjoy was the VHS COVER ART they would use to get you to rent the movie or atleast pick up the box ad read about it.

Also the old movie posters from like 1991 back IMO was so much better, even if the movie it's sucked balls

Many ways in this Digital World I miss alot of the little things that went into the experince of "WATCHING A MOVIE"  ........

In some small part I try to bring that back, in a NEW/OLD Fashion way ........

However, like the Star Trek TNG Ep 102 Darmok ....... "Darmok and Jalad at Tanagra" .............

I feel if you knew the Context of what you was watching then you would enjoy it a more knowing the intend ment behind Fan Edits or even Movies in and of themselfs

But this is just my thoughts,

Actually I have a LOT of fan edits and am very familiar with the days of video stores and the boxes on the shelves. Even back in the day I disliked the quality of VHS with tracking issues, deterioration over time, etc. Never watched a BetaMax though I did have a laserdisc player

Hello DP,

Betamax by far was better , it's no laserdisc  ....... LOL

Again we're back to Quality and not Content , and if you note other then the retro look I'm more about content

FYI there are some Laserdisc that have context not found on VHS.

Who framed Roger Rabbit , you get to see all of Jessica Rabbit  ....... where in VHS /DVD/Bluray all you see is white panties , that never set well with me this hot chick wearing a sexy dress and wearing white cotton panties ......... ????

Are you sure they were cotton? Looked like maybe a poly-blend.
