Just checked it out.  Out of curiosity, how does this discord differ from Lt. Aldo's?
After my previous posts about not being able to get past the Capture thing, it turns out to be "Fucking GOOGLE" getting in the Fucking way, as usual!!!
Sorry for the swearing but that nosey, self important, Company really winds me up. Anyway, dumped them as my search engine and things are good now!!
So going on to greater things now.

What am I supposed to do with this Doscord?
Anyone know why 3D-load is down for maintenance? I’ve never seen it go down like that before until very recently when the site was having intermittent server errors. Zonegfx was having sever issues as well yesterday (and the day before) so I thought it was something like a DDoS attack

Scooby, I dunno, but I hope to God he's cleaning up his HORRIBLE site code. My setup requires that I browse with images turned off (it's simply unworkable for me any other way, especially with the large arrays of large images the site uses). But when I turn off images and load the site, the alt text links are all jammed together and unreadable, and clicking on them does nothing. Having working alt-text links for broken/blocked images is Webmaster 101 stuff.

God bless him, and thanks for all the content, truly, but I have a huge backlog of stuff to download (like 400 products, not counting anything he's uploaded in the last few days), because my computer died on me and I haven't been able to download anything since the 2nd week of January. I can keep up with current downloads by using Chrome's Web Developer extension and disabling CSS styles, but I have to do that for every page because it resets for every new page I load, and again due to my setup that just won't work for 400 pages.

All he has to do is either fix the alt text links so they work (or suggest a browser they do work in - they don't work in Chrome), or set up his RSS feed with everything he's ever uploaded in it, so I can go directly to the product pages.

Sorry if I seem angry, but I am. His site rates extremely low on design and useability. Frankly, it seems like a bad cut-and-paste job. But I am hopeful that his current "remodeling" will solve the problem.

I really hope the site isn't just down because of an attack. That would mean they'd be too busy just getting it back up to fix the HORRIBLE design.

P.S., Kavana, I fucking hate g**gle. I hope they take a long walk off a short pier, and take their big brother routine, commie politics, and fooling-only-kindergarteners cartoon aesthetics with them.
I swear to Christ. I've tried like 10 different chrome/firefox extensions and 5 different browsers (like 20 if you count all the versions I've tried) and I can't get that goddamn site to work with images turned off. The alt text is just sitting right there, but clicking it does jack squat.

Making a site where the links are only clickable as images is shit coding.

Think I'm just gonna retire from this shit. Too much fucking work.

HI, Morlock, i'm really sorry for this issue, but it's not my fault, I use one of the best theme around, this one: https://themeforest.net/item/betheme-res...me/7758048
So I don't know, I'll try to fix it  adding a new theme option Smile

Hey Anonymous951, the site works great for me.  I just scraped all of it for posterity (366 GB!!!) and uploaded it into my own gdrive.

I lost all my old info so I've started the laborious process of redownloading all my daz3d content.  I am currently working through the 12000 or so torrents from the old kickass server.  I've got about 3000 or so downloaded.  Are you interested if I shared my completed directory with you so you could fill in any of the older stuff?  I don't want links shared directly from my personal gdrive but I don't mind if you download it to rehost.

Edit: I sent you a PM

What reason would you have to browse with images off? As a friendly suggestion, why don't you save the html files directly to your hard drive and grab the link from them? The html files are approx 100kb each which is much smaller than waiting for the site images to load.
I can only get dialup at home (I can't afford the setup costs for satellite). I use TeamViewer to control a seedbox at a location with a fast connection, and sneakernet everything home. Cave man routine, I know. But browsing with images off is the only way to make it work for me. I looked high and low for some way to replace images with placeholders so the links would be preserved, but couldn't find anything. Really you'd think low-bandwidth browsing would at least be on the radar, as much whining as the idiots do about global warming and energy consumption (somehow magically that doesn't apply to the billions of servers google and the rest of silicon valley run), pretending to give a shit about poor people in Africa, etc.

Downloading the html files and extracting the links is actually a good idea. It's how I went through the old pages on 3d-load and created a list of everything uploaded during the time I was offline, then checked every entry on that list against my local archive to delete everything I already had, leaving me just the stuff that was new to me. I could probably use the files I already have saved. Thanks for the suggestion; I really should have thought of it myself.

Anon, I was pissed, sorry I went overboard with it. My needs are pretty niche, I understand. It's just FRUSTRATING AS HELL, if you can try to imagine. One little thing, alt-text links that work, and I'd be set.

Again, I'm very grateful for all the content I've downloaded so far.

Noobg, is it any faster to side-load google drive links to one's own account, then download it from your own google drive account? Like, can you make a list of all the stuff and download it more quickly that way, or something? I don't know much about google drive.

Oh, Anon, since you were looking at this thread, I do have a suggestion for your site that most people will agree with: put the download links first, and the description and all the rest after. That way people don't have to scroll down to find the link. I don't care about the description, I never read the description, but I have to scroll past it every...single...time to get to the download links. Just put the links first.

Noobg, you're a genius, btw. Or I'm a dunce. Or both. I forgot I actually derived my list of product names from a big list of URLs in the first place. I used Notepad++ to remove all the slashes and dashes and https and stuff that came before the product name, so I could paste just the product names into my desktop search, but I kept the original URL list and forgot I had it on my desktop, lol. It's still gonna be tedious work searching for the URL for each product I want and making my final list of URLs, but it shouldn't be too bad because I whittled my final list of products down to like 400 entries.

Sometimes I get so wound up over a problem, I miss solutions that would be obvious if I stepped back a bit.

Morlock, I'll PM you a database file so you don't have to download every page.  I assume you're just after the links; I can throw them into a zipped excel sheet for you. Unless you're comfortable with sqlite, in which case I'll toss you the sqlite file as well.

To your question, I actually have a headless jdownloader (https://github.com/PlusMinus0/headless-jd2-docker) instance running on my seedbox.  If you can't install docker on your seedbox it likely won't help you much, but So I just dump a list of links (it's quite happy to process 2500 at a time) and it merrily chews through the list and dumps them into a directory.  Then I use rclone (https://rclone.org) to sync it to a personal gdrive.  Since my seedbox has a 50TB monthly outgoing limit (and unlimited incoming) and 6TB of storage I currently just keep them mirrored in two places.  Eventually I'll clean up space on the seedbox and just have it on gdrive.

The jdownloader was necessary because the links aren't bare; some of them are behind ad.fly or other link shorteners and I can't be bothered to deal with those manually. I just put the link in jdownload and click "deep decrypt" (sometimes it's not even necessary as it's smart enough to know itself) and it pulls the link by itself.

Let me know if you prefer having the original HTML files as well. I just finished scraping the archive.org files for daz3dfree as well, so if you're interested in looking through the old stuff I can cross link it for you. As I said, give me five minutes and I'll send you a mega link(s) with the excel sheet, sqlite file, and/or raw html files.
Noobg, thank you. I assume you're talking about the gdrive links, so I don't have to go through 3DL? If so, yeah, that would save me a good bit of time. The problems I have with 3DL are just with the top-level pages; the product-level pages with the google and mega drive links work fine. But it would still save me a lot of time to have the google drive links. I don't think I need the HTML. Excel sounds good, thanks again.

As for your seedbox, are you saying it automatically turns 3DL's links into downloaded content for you? Oh man, that sounds like Heaven.

Oh, btw, I used "seedbox" in my previous post only in a loose concept kind of way. It's just a crappy notebook running W10 at a friend's house. Smile
