Presidential Elections - glad the campaign is over.

I'm happy to report that my election streak now stands at 6-1 . I voted for Kerry (my only loss). I also voted for Gore, but I considered that a win that was stolen.

After wish-washing for a good part of the early election, I decided that Trump would get my vote. I would vote Obama again if they allow me to... He ran a shitty campaign, but I stated before on my FB that I was hoping he was using business tactics to get in...Apparently , it worked.  I'm confident that President Trump will be better, calmer, more thought out than candidate Trump.

I couldn't vote for Hillary. I believe she had the media in her back pocket, and she is corrupt beyond belief.  The Benghazi BS pissed me off. And the email issue with the FBI was unacceptable... Since Hillary had the media in her back pocket, I firmly believe this is why the projected numbers were so wrong... The projectors were not incompetent IMHO, they were PAID off by Clinton, I can go on and on, but I won't

I want to ask you what you think? As far as being in this country, do you believe the change he promises will start to take place, or hot air? (the GOP controls congress, so he won't meet up with gridlock like Obama did...)

What do you think if you don't live in America? I know government is corrupt in all countries , but are you hopeful, scared, etc? I'm curious to hear your opinions... Let's face it, Trump is gonna be a new, fresh change; Clinton would have been politics as usual...

I'm looking for your comments/thoughts, for or against, what I said. all opinions are welcome.

Here in Canada we think Trump won't be as much of a problem as the teabagger-infested GOP.
He's a fool but no idiot and will tend to resist their worst ideas but they'll outvote him in Congress.

Agreed. I think shit talking candidate Trump was just a business ploy to with the election. President Trump will not be so gung-ho and abrasive... Plus, If I was him, I'd probably let shit slip that I didn't mean out of pure frustration over Hillary's outright underhanded tactics (paying off the media to make him look bad imho)and lying .

It CAN'T be any worse than Bush II

This election cycle is largely the result of the poor state of education in the US.

Now that they have elected Trump, they will get a really nasty schooling.

Obama really did have some ideas that would have been good for the average citizen if they were ever properly implemented, but he couldn't get past a congress with their mouths full of corporate dick.

People hated Clinton because she and the DNC represented all that is wrong with Corporate Congress. But if she were elected, it wouldn't have been much different that the last 8 years. She didn't really have any unique ideas of her own, so it would have been another 4 years of Corporate Congress sodomizing the country. Now that Trump is president, and Congress has a republican majority, Congress will have to spit that dick out or demonstrate they are no better than Hilary and the DNC. I believe they like the dick too much.

While Trump may only last for 4 years, the damage he will do to the Supreme Court will be felt for a lot longer.

You voted for Trump. Enjoy your education.

Hillary is going to start regretting screwing Sanders out of the nomination.
She won't admit it, of course, because she wants to try again; but Sanders
would have beaten Trump and would have left the country in better shape
after four or eight years, even with the teabaggers' wailing and moaning. ‌ [Image: tongue3.gif]

I don't want to sound like a cop out, but what allows me to sleep at night are a few things:
1) I believe he IS about the change (he doesn't like the dick as much as you think) . Agree with you that Hillary would have been more of the same, with nothing done.
2) Candidate Trump did what he did to be elected. President Trump will be better in all regards.
3) I didn't vote for Trump as much as I voted against Hillary... And It didn't matter anyway because She won in my state of Connecticut. but I had to not vote for her.

I took a "leap of faith" in my beliefs of him... Now it's wait and see. I just hope he doesn't prove me wrong and that "leap" was off a cliff. I'm excited though!!! Clinton, I would have been, "eh, corruption as usual"

I would have voted Sanders.... In fact, I wanted to vote Sanders... His "clean the house" platform mirrors Trumps... I would have voted for GOV Ventura if he ran over Trump, or certainly Obama again if that was possible... But these are the choices we had... Trump is the "lesser of 2 evils, IMHO"

I'm thrilled it's all over. There's so much bullshit slung on all sides on the lead-up to elections, and so many cynical promises made that are kicked away afterwards, that I find myself disgusted at the wall-to-wall coverage of garbage long before the election rolls around. Now at least we'll have a year and some before the next major cycle (sans president) comes up.

President-Elect Trump seemed feeling differently on 11/9, viz: The moment of victory.

i like how american film director oliver stone summed it up in a recent tweet:

Oliver Stone ‏@TheOliverStone Nov 9
Look on bright side with @realdonaldtrump. He’s a dealmaker! @HillaryClinton is a hardcore neocon warhawk.
Russia might breathe again!

oliver stone is no right winger and virtually all his movies are political with a left leaning slant. i seldom agree with him but he's a cinéaste and i enjoy his films and am looking forward to "snowden" when a good rip is uploaded.
