Is TPB dying? Will we ever be able to access the site without TOR or VPN?

Bad advice, logging in to a proxy site is not secure. I have to log in to upload. Derp.

I'm doing all of the above with VPN.

So I have to get a VPN to make TPB functional now?  If that's the new normal the site isn't the world's largest library anymore because the average person can't upload.

If a seedbox and tor aren't enough to upload to TPB you guys aren't going to have many uploaders left.

Install Opera and you'll get a free VPN

Proxy means substitute.  A proxy site is a substitute site (which just copies all of the original site and offers it up).  The copied TPB sites (proxy sites) are indeed not wise to use because of malware and I don't think you can upload using them anyway.

A proxy server is similar to a VPN in that it is a substitute connection.  There are lists of free proxy servers.  Some use encryption like a VPN.  Choose a server that is based in a location where TPB is accessible and you should be able to log in and upload.

If you don't want to go that route, maybe you should shop around for a different seedbox.  Mine includes a VPN.  Even if it didn't, a separate VPN wouldn't cost more than a few dollars a month.

I try the free proxys and yes occasionally you can get lucky but more often it takes TIME and lots of it. I shared a Tom Petty torrent recently and it took 12 hours to do it using a "free" proxy. Not trying to whine or cry about it just saying. After all I did it. But I doubt most "Normal" peeps would put in the effort. And thats what my friend politux is saying. He is not wrong. This is going to become worse I suspect as the adversary also is reading this and is bolstered by his efforts working. I fear for the future. I remember when TPB made jokes about getting an island. But joking aside sooner rather than later TPB wont need to get an island it shall become one.

I liked uploading to TPB because I wanted people to have lossless music not the crappy transcoded mp3's that were on the bay when I started eight years ago. I would still like to upload to TPB. But if I'm forced to pay for a VPN just to upload torrents I will just disappear into the private sites and not upload anymore.  Sad, but I'm fed up with the bullshit. I moved to TOR, uploading via tor used to work just fine. I don't seed from home I'm not an idiot.

Install openvpn on your seedbox, install openvpn on your computer, you then will have a vpn with no additional costs.

Actually it's both :  a server and a site :  ProxySite.com is what I use.  On that particular site, sometimes it takes trying a few different servers....and making the torrents a bit larger ( 2048 KB or 2 MB pieces ) and then it will upload.  For the past several hours on October 11 nobody has been able to upload.  So keep checking the TPB Status here.   Rolleyes

Pirate Bay definitely isn't dying... it's just broken in how we upload, and in recent months it's impossible to directly access in many parts of the world. I know it's still strong with downloaders, because my dramatic and comedy TV series torrents continue to be in high demand.
Most of them I don't post here in Promote Your Shares.
