Is TPB dying? Will we ever be able to access the site without TOR or VPN?
#1
Between inability to search, inability to upload, and inability to browse the site without TOR I'm starting to wonder if TPB will ever return to functionality. The longer it goes on not working the more people will just give up trying to fight with the cryptic error messages. I love TPB and have been uploading for eight years. I currently have three torrents that I can't post because I'm getting "file empty" even with TOR.  Sad.

https access from the US without a vpn and the ability to upload torrents would be nice features.

" inability to search, inability to upload, and inability to browse the site without TOR"

I'm doing all of the above with VPN.

So I have to get a VPN to make TPB functional now? If that's the new normal the site isn't the world's largest library anymore because the average person can't upload.

If a seedbox and tor aren't enough to upload to TPB you guys aren't going to have many uploaders left.

If you don't want to get a VPN, just move to one of the cities listed below where TPB is accessible.  I understand that you don't like Trump.  Perhaps you should try Moscow or Riyadh.  Kill 2 birds with one stone, so to speak.  Big Grin

Looks like it's Uncle Sam a la Beijing Internet "shaping" (blatant censorship). Thanks the new Net Neutering laws!

The simple answer to your question, is TPB dying, the answer is no it's not but if it were dying it would be already dead anyway and wouldn't work at all. The second question about will we all have to use a TOR and VPN to access sites like TPB well the answer is yes and if you don't then you're a fool to yourself. Probably at the moment in 2018 and after that into the future if you torrent and send and receive copyright material and you do this without the use of TOR and VPN then you're a mug and if you carry on then eventually they will probably just shut down your internet and then you won't have any internet anymore because you've allowed yourself to become caught. Somebody these days who pirates online and doesn't take precautions to protect themselves and not to reveal themselves and prevents people from finding out what sites you're using then is a complete fool otherwise.

Also I should mention that one of my favourite uploaders on TPB here that uploads all my favourite wrestling shows every week have managed to upload just fine and they are VIP status as well with the green skull. Like today I have just got home and I am wanting to download and watch my favourite wrestling show of the week and it's there no problem and I'm able to access this torrent just like I am every week so whatever that user is doing it obviously works as they are able to upload stuff all the time and it seems to work just fine. Maybe if the TPB was having such problems as of late then you'd think that even one of the biggest sporting/wrestling/boxing etc.. uploaders on TPB would have trouble but no just fine. I was able to upload myself just recently the complete franchises of X-Men and Star Wars just fine but found that maybe with the X-Men the scrape on the torrent seemed messed up a bit as hardly any downloaders or seeders were showing up but infact they are both seeding just fine so it is again the result of bad scrapes but that doesn't mean the site is dead just means that sometimes when you post you get like blank scrapes where no statistics or any information about the number of downloaders or uploaders shows up but that's been going on for some time. It would be cool if that could get fixed on some of my shares like Maze Runner, Wizard of Oz, Pacific Rim etc.. The torrents are seeding just fine but due to errors in the scrape it seems that this happens like a random event a bit like hit and miss I guess...

I have a seedbox and I can get all the content I want from private sites without issue. I liked uploading to TPB because I wanted people to have lossless music not the crappy transcoded mp3's that were on the bay when I started eight years ago. I would still like to upload to TPB. But if I'm forced to pay for a VPN just to upload torrents I will just disappear into the private sites and not upload anymore. Sad, but I'm fed up with the bullshit. I moved to TOR, uploading via tor used to work just fine. I don't seed from home I'm not an idiot.

You don't have to pay for a VPN.  Just use free proxy servers.
