Now, that out of the way--wow, I think that might be my record for giviing up on a riff/riffgroup.  So they start off with a big not really funny joke about the current election (I'm not really political, just thought it was unfunny), and then continued to go on about it and how awesome they were for tieing it in to some random Gremlins trivia.  Meanwhile the movie was starting and the volume seemed really low and they didn't even seem to be paying attention to it.

Yeah, I don't always agree with their opinions on things/movies, but I still find their stuff fun/interesting to listen to.

As for the volume being low, I do that because they are indeed not always referencing what's happening in the movie, usually having a conversation about the movie and things related to it, so hearing the movie dialog for the most part makes it difficult to focus on what they are saying. I try to mix it so that you get some ambience from the movie soundtrack like it's in the background. With a straight riff, you of course want to hear the movie as well as the riff.
