Froot VPN?

I've just seen it on the front page of TPB. Is it safe to use? Can I trust their servers, being free and without bandwidth limit?

I too am pretty sceptical.

Legit or not, it's going to be swamped with new users right now and you're likely to have a frustrating time if you try to join as 'one of the crowd'.

Bookmark it.

Try it a month from now.

If it's legit (and well run), it will still be running.

If it isn't, it will have died by then.

seeing that the vpn is free and still very responsive (the front page) how safe is it?

does anyone know if it is a honeypot the copyrights industry is using to collect ip addresses?

It says at first it will be free and then will make a small charge.

Seems they've already burned out. I registered an account the other day. Now I can no longer log in, no matter what I try.

And I didn't even try out the actual VPN.

Bleh.

I signed up for this service today 10-30-2014 and it was very easy to setup and seems to be doing its job. I can't speak as to if it is truly on the up and up yet (and I really hope it is) but I am getting incredible speeds from it. My internet package is 50Mbps down and 10Mbps up but I get 65Mbps down and 13Mbps usually. Every method I've used to uncover my tru IP returns the IP assigned in Sweden and even though I am very far from there at peak times I've averaged 4 - 5 MB/s dl's, yes megabytes per second, and 1 MB/s ul's. Now during off peak I'm getting 7 MB/s and 1 MB/s but 1MB/s is my set max upload anyway. Using my normal connection I would max out at 9 MB/s dl's so for a free vpn I can say their bandwidth is pretty darn good and has barely slowed down my downloads so far.

I have tried this VPN a couple of times and even though the bandwidth is excellent, I still wouldn't trust it. There is literally no such thing as a free trustworthy VPN.

Plus, last time I checked it was down.

I've been using it for quite sometime and i recommend it, there's a slight difference almost unnoticeable in the bandwidth allocation but its not significant and wont be noticed by 99% of the users, the service, besides what i just mentioned, is exactly the same as those provided by private/paid VPN's.

Its the best alternative for people who can't (don't want to) pay for the private ones.
