I would be wise to steer clear of free VPNs and instead direct your attention towards the likes of ProtonVPN, Mullvad, and iVPN.

I recommend ProtonVPN. I have been using Proton VPN for over a year now, and I am highly satisfied with the service. They have a nice user interface and the servers are fast. 

I can even unlock region locked streaming sites with some of the servers as there are dozens. Even their free plan have fast servers which is rare among VPNs. I have downloaded torrent games without issues with the VPN. And the best part is they are not located in the US, so I don't have to worry about FBI knocking on my doors due to downloaded games 'shared' by others.
