Does a Pre-Activated Windows 7 (or 8) Exist?
#1
There are postings that call themselves "Pre-Activated" Windows 7 or 8.1 all over the net (including TPB). Yet, I have never found a truely pre-activated copy. In every case, after installation you have to run an activation utility or go through additional steps to reach activation.

So, my question is: Is there really any copies out there that simply install and need no further steps to activate; or am I reading the meaning of "pre-activated" wrong?

Yes they do exist i have used them myself many times, the Windows 7 x64 im currently using came pre-activated which i got from TPB and it worked perfect (I still apply Daz loader just to be on the safe side). Most pre-activated windows install activation thingys during Windows Install or instantly when Windows is setting up the desktop after Win installation has finished.

Thanks for the reply.

I do understand what you are talking about. I've seen installs that do exactly that. Once the OS is installed then an "activator" either runs just before the final reboot or immediately after that reboot And then Windows is activated. I guess in my mind a "pre-activated" copy would be like the "corporate version" of XP, where you just entered a serial# and that was it. No activator or patch etc was needed.

So, my followup question is: is there a similar "corporate version" of Windows 7 (or 8.1) that does not require using (either manually or automatically) an activator of some kind?

For Win 7 and 8 no there is no Corp. version these windows require activation in different ways compared to XP just simply entering serials is not enough these days.

This question is pointless, Why?? because for a PAID software you require some from of activation (which u have to manually do mostly) one way or another so in pre-activated windows the activation script auto runs. "Activator" is not just a program, a "serial" is also considered an activator.

Just download a pre-activated installation and run it as you would if you were to install a normal OS.

Most installations, like the ones released by murphy78, will just do the job for you. The difference is that it tells you in the installation phase that it's not a legit copy, and that if you bought it from someone, you should get a refund. Other than that, just normal.

One thing to note: when looking for updates, do not download update KB971033. If you are approached to install that, just "hide" the update. If you installed it, use the DAZ Loader to disable it.

Hope this helps.
