The "society" doesn't approach anything as anything. Your personal beliefs are the only thing that you are exposing here, and you're full of misconceptions.
So i'm misunderstanding it all? I thought that file sharing was illegal - isn't that by itself a societal approach towards piracy?

What your doing is illegal according to many. Your communicating with file sharers. So your guilty by association. How will you reconcile that with the ethics committee when you hand in your Thesaurus.
Or have they made an allowance this time because we fall outside of the societal approach and are worthy of study?
