Best laptops to buy?
#21
Depends...
My only laptop was Asus Eee mini pc.
I had three times problems with it within 2 years. Something wre always broken so i had to send it to the nearest ASUS repair (free of charge of course)
Well my laptop always got repaired so atlest I dont have anything against ASUS customer service.

Nowadays I prefer smartphones and/ or tablets over laptops.
Currently I'm pretty happy with my iPhone 5S. Of corse i have two windows PC's at home.

I found a similar product that I wanted to purchase like this, http://www.bestbuy.com/site/15-6-laptop-...39&st=asus laptops&cp=1&lp=13 but it's nowhere to be found.

What other laptops have these features and are perfect to use when using Pirate Bay? I get concern using Windows 8 or other new laptops because of privacy.

As a pretty tech-savvy person, I can tell you that brand names (e.g. hp, dell) don't really matter. What I do myself is buy a used laptop on ebay that's missing a few parts and fix it up, ultimately having spent only ~$100. With any laptop, however, I'd say look at the specs and consider your usage (for example, a gaming computer would need to be far more powerful than something you just use to check your e-mails). If privacy is a concern and you don't game or depend on proprietary software, I'd recommend using Linux. It also lets you get away with using a lower-spec computer.

I use a cf-74 toughbook, self-refurbished.

I realized brands don't matter now. Although, I don't like Toshiba laptops. I'm more about how the physical appearance feels, looks and what the specs are. Dell is my preference. I never had any problems with the laptops I purchased. At the moment, I don't have one. I bought them, but returned them since I'm struggling financially. I've had people ask what am I willing to pay for a laptop, but some are out of my budget range.

I was told Linux can be a great OS. I'll look into it. If I can build myself a laptop from scratch, I would do it. I have a friend that does his computer from different parts. I'll see if he can teach me.

Thanks for the input.

I don't think it's reasonably possible to build your own laptop from top to bottom, actually. Again, the closest you can get to that is to buy a dirt cheap used laptop on ebay that's missing some parts and fix it up yourself.
