- 2.8+ compat

Please test this, but make sure to create proper backups!
The 2.8+ versions have a changed flow, this should work fine, however keep in mind that it is the first test.
Sorry for the delay, I fucked up my machine and took a day rebuilding it.

- Patch the installer before installing to prevent leaking your information!
- Linux can be patched, just copy the files over to a windows machine and select the directory!
- "External Accessibility Check", "Version Check"  and "Browser URL Check" will now always fail!
- Installing/updating extensions could theoretically be spotted by Connectwise as they are downloaded directly from their servers!
- License no longer displays (not required for patch to function)
- Please do not post thanks and other posts that do not contribute (the mods don't like them and it clutters the thread)
- Hosts file editing no longer required as the uri's are patched out of the appropriate files
Is the setup for SSL the same as a regular setup?

When doing a clean install (without trial key) just perform steps 1,3 and 4. That will result in a usable system.

There is only one installer, as with most software things like https are configured afterwards.

Did you set the permissions correct and did you open the mentioned URL?

Anyone tried 20.11.1372.7585 yet?

EDIT: Nevermind, it looks like they have now pulled that version from "stable releases".

Installed screenconnect "ScreenConnect_20.1.29489.7513_Release.tar.gz" on debian 10x64. It was working fine without patch. Copied installed files from opt/screenconenct to windows and patched and again copied it back to debian. But now its not working . Before copying files back stopped screenconnect services and then started again. Patch used 2.6.0 (beta)

Anywork around for linux ?

CompareMemory <-- that's the crashing function, that's not something we patch/touch in any way.

Are you sure you are running a compatible Linux/glibc?

Also try ScreenConnect_20.2.29488.7519_Debug.tar.gz

First, thanks for great work!

If I patch the installer (linux) and use that to upgrade my current install, how critical is it to patch upgraded system again?
Are there specific files I would need to copy back to /opt/screenconnect after patching on my Windows?

I've also noticed this happening on a daily basis:
Error: "The server was unable to process the request due to an internal error. The server may be able to return exception details (it depends on the server settings)."
The only way to get SC to work again is to restart the service.

Thanks!

Thanks for pointing out error. It seems this is common error of memory leak in linux due to libc version issue. They have mentioned workaround for this error on their website. will try that today and update here.

***Working ***
Tested current patch on Ubuntu 20.04 x64 using version ScreenConnect_20.1.29489.7513_Release.tar.gz .
In case screenconnect doesn't get started look for libc error fix. Its just a simple symlink error of libc .
