Hey folks, it's UserHEVC from 1337x. I encode movies in AV1 and OPUS. I'm going to use this thread to promote a few of my shares. My fans can also reach out here, if they have any questions about how to play AV1 movies or nix (remove) multi language audio tracks. I usually upload 1080p movies, but sometimes I'll upload the rare 4K movie as well. 

At this point, the focus is on video quality and culture. The file size balances itself, when the latest video plus audio compression techniques are used. UserHEVC encodes resolve problems other encoders do not address.

1. The audio problem: OPUS is one of the most efficient audio codecs to date. It creates high quality audio streams at a fraction of the file size. This allows multi-languages to be included in releases, without blowing up the file size. Each additional language impacts the file size by only 3-5% for 1080p. This addresses the need to repost the same movie multiple times. It combines seeders onto one torrent to increase lifespan and reduce clutter.
   
   
2. The video problem: File size is a limiting factor for our ability to download, store and distribute torrents. AV1 is twice as efficient per bit as AVC (x264) and 30% more efficient per bit than HEVC (x265). This allows 1080p releases of premium video quality around the 6GB range on average. Four times as many encoding resources (than x265) are applied to run complex video compression algorithms that take many hours!
   

The SVT-AV1 encoder has come a long way in the past year! It's now possible to implement a minimum quality standard of Mode 3 across all encodes. UserHEVC encodes go the extra mile, by taking features from Mode 2 to further enhance the video quality. Motion improvements for instance help the encoder detect moving scenes. These allocate extra bits when required to avoid blurriness.

Lastly, I actually seed my torrents for as long as possible. I do not dump them on torrent websites than abandon them 24 hours later. Instead of wasting money on 10gbit seed box rentals, I have invested in the hardware to make it happen. My torrents are seeded with all solid state and as much RAM as the motherboard physically allows. My launch platform for new torrents is able to effectively deliver 30 upload slots per torrent and prioritize traffic for throughput. How fast you download torrents depends on the kindness of your peers. I'm usually able to push 500GB through a torrent in a couple hours if required. However, I relay on the assumption peers are going to give back some bandwidth!

This movie should be higher quality than a 15GB HEVC encode at only 12.2GB in AV1 due to the level of time consumption. I took the video quality up anther notch by implementing more motion improvements and disabling picture depth reinforcement. It took 1d 2h 26m to encode this thing! Enjoy!

Edit: There are 100's of peers downloading currently. I'm pushing 250GB per hour through this torrent across 40 upload slots ~ 1.5gbps.

The highest quality 4K release I've made so far. It uses a preset combination on SVT-AV1 between Mode 3 and Mode 2 with a 13.6 Mbps bitrate. This replaces my old release and is a symbol of progress.

This encode turned out very good the 2nd time around. The first version was trashed and the bitrate was increased due to motion blurring. I'm glad I consumed 20 hours re-doing it. No regrets what-so-ever. It looks amazing at a 16.3Mbps bitrate. The file size is still under 11GB, which is great for a 4K release.
