A few paranoid queries

Hi there, so I'm from Australia and mainly I just download Movies/TV Shows, I've never considered that I could possibly get in trouble for it one day by the government, I'm just wondering what the likely hood of that is?

I read an article like:

from May 2013 which seems like I'm safe, but then I read an article like:

from November 2013 and my 'safety' to download seems in more question.

Is some kind of 'IP Hider' program a viable option for me? Or if not an IP Hider, some kind of program to hide what I do on the web? If so is anyone able to link me to a trusted download? xD

The only way to efficiently hide your IP while downloading/uploading/browsing is to pay for a VPN (such as IPredator) or to use a seedbox (only for downloading/uploading).

Alright then thanks for the tip i've looked at both of those options and I'll probably consider those in the near future.

As for the likelyhood of the Oz Governement cracking down on this sort of stuff? What are peoples thoughts if any? xD

The chances that the government is going to hassle you for downloading Movies/TV Shows is so small as to be insignificant.

Copyright trolls may well threaten you but the most the Government will do is order ISPs to block the customers from directly accessing certain websites.
