Can't get Utorrent to work with PrivateInternetAccess.
#1
Signed up for PrivateInternetAccess yesterday, but can't get it to work correctly with Utorrent. Not having any luck with the suggestions from PrivateInternetAccess support: Anyone out there using their service that can help me?

I'm using Windows 7, coming straight through a CenturyLink router, pretty simple. Utorrent works fine until I connect to the VPN, then I become 'unconnectable' and the speed of my torrents gets really slow. Crazy thing is that my internet connection becomes WAY FASTER through the VPN, I pay for 3 mpbs service, and through the VPN it's been as high as 18 mpbs, usually always 10 mpbs.

So why can't I get decent speeds in Utorrent throught the VPN?

Reviews on this service is great, so I am missing a setting somewhere.

Anybody? It don't even have to be PrivateInternetAccess, just someone using any of the VPN's our there should be able to help.

It's only been two days. Wait at least a week before bumping your help threads.

I know this thread is old, but thought I'd throw out an answer anyways... hope it's useful.

I had to set up the PrivateInternetAccess Socks5 proxy in order for BitTorrent to work. The username/pwd is different than your regular PIA access credentials, but can be found on the Client Control panel on the PIA website. Here's a HowTo:
Apparently I can't paste links... so just do a search for "PrivateInternetAccess uTorrent Install Instructions ProxyChecker" and it should be the first result.
