Not Pirating Pirates of the Caribbean could lead to more movies

Jerry Bruckheimer said that Dead Men Tell No Tales/Salazar’s Revenge Home Media (including Digital) sales will help Pirates 6 happen ☺  https://screenrant.com/pirates-caribbean...ray-sales/

So pirating Pirates of the Caribbean 5 could save us from more movies!

Sweet. Pity people didn't figure that out after Pirates of the Caribbean 1.

Damn good thing for DRM, limited market availability, and over-inflated prices.

According to that article, Pirates 5 made $792 million already. What the hell does blu-ray or anything have to do with it? WTF?

$794 is still quite a bit less than the previous 3 instalments, all of which made over $900 and were made on smaller budgets. As Jerry Bruckheimer points out here, if the movie does well in Home Media sales it will help encourage Disney to not only make another one, but also another one with the required assets such as budget needed to properly have it be what it can truly be and not be held back and unnecessarily limited against itself Smile

So far they only made a profit of $500 million. Poor things.

Well it cost $230 milllion to make and according to, you know, the article we are talking about, it made $792 million.

So I guess it's actually more like $562 million that they made so far.

Does Bruckheimer mean that pirating is not wanted?

Oh dear me, I must be slow!

Indeed. It's paltry profits such as this that make us realize just how serious a challenge piracy is to the spirit of entrepreneurship. We should shut up shop, staple chains to the back of our necks, and offer the lead to the Disney folks. Might make them feel just a bit better. Oh, the humanity.
