So my advice would be to everyone that uses TPB, is to use chrome, with these extensions:-
1.....Adblock
2.....Adblock Plus
3.....Scriptsafe
4.....Ghostery
5.....Remove Ads from Pirate Bay
If using Firefox, use these extensions:-
1.....Adblock Plus
2.....NoScript
And enjoy TPB with no annoying ads or popups.
uBlock Origin is enough for TPB.
After testing uBlock, I still stick my original advice, and to use those 5 separate extensions, uBlock still allows popup pages to open and it's those that don't allow them to be closed by normal means, they have to be killed using the task manager.
As a test I disabled uBlock, and used those 5 extensions, then started searching and clicking around TPB, and no ads, and no popups/popunders, then I disabled those extesions and only used uBlock, then started the same test, and by the time I finished I had 12 popup windows open, I used CTRL-TAB_ to switch windows to TPB, because each one tried to take focus, sooo, basically, uBlock is nothing compared to adblock, adblock plus, remove ads from piratebay, ghostery, and scriptsafe.
With scriptsafe, I can allow 'ONLY' those scripts that are needed for normal working of a site, such as php, so when I open scriptsafe, I can see a list of blocked scripts, and if any of them are not from the site I'm browsing, then I block those and allow others, this method is very successful on TPB.
For example. on TPB, there are 2 domains that possibly create the ads and popups, they are:-
js-agent.newrelic.com (1)
static.pdn-1.com (1)
The numbers inside the parenthesis mean how many scripts are running from that domain.
