When adding a comment, it does not show up, so I always think it did not go through. I don't learn my lesson because I so rarely comment. If I got some visual feedback, or if the message editbox would disappear or something, I wouldn't be clicking the accept button a second time.

When submitting the comment, the text box disappears and the comment is added to the bottom.

If you are not seeing this behavior, the problem is in your browser as this functionality is provided by javascript.

Thank you for paying attention to this, Moe. I'm not trying to start an argument or anything, but, in my experience, this has been an issue for years. I seldom comment, which is why I was never bothered about it. Maybe it's a random thing, having to do with database server load (javascript expects to receive feedback quickly, and when it doesn't, simply nothing happens). It does happen often for me. Earlier, I had come back to the page after having started this thread and pressed that accept button again... with the same results.

In the past (different machines, various operating systems), I did use AdBlock Plus and other script blocking addons, but not now. I'm on the latest Firefox (v52.0), release channel, 32-bit, on Windows 10 64-bit updated this year. The only addons I use are three download managers and a "Google Translate" thing right now. This is a new Windows installation, a new PC.

I work as a programmer and I'm familiar with server as well as desktop, etc., multiple languages and technologies, and I can't think of anything that would hinder JavaScript on my end. Please don't dismiss it so soon. All I've ever used at the same time was most probably uTorrent, which is a network-heavy program indeed, so on second thought, maybe it's that, but even then, I would have expected this to be a known issue.

Thank you for your time.

It is a "known issue" in the sense that it is known to happen from time to time.

But it is a minor cosmetic side effect, as you have suggested yourself, of an ever changing myriad of combination of machines, operating systems, browsers, adblockers etc., and server load (as TPB runs on a battery of load balanced machines which take time to synch).

i.e. the system works. There are no plans to change anything and no real need.

[Personally, I always look to the count of comments displayed--I generally find that reliably increments whenever a comment is accepted whether the comment is displayed immediately or not).

Thank you Sid for replying. I'll take note of the comment count next time. I'm just suggesting some improvement. I barely even use the comment system. I disagree that it only happens from time to time. It probably happened to me more than 50% of the time for the last several years (although I haven't commented even 10 times in total). I haven't seen too many others duplicating comments for that reason, but I've seen a few, enough to say it's not on a rare occasion. If it were, I wouldn't have bothered to make another account on the forums, debate it, and suggest a fix.

I've said my peace to the suggestion box.
Thank you for your time.
