no sound on my downloads

just wondering why so many of my downloads have the volume tab crossed out? the picture is great but no sound.i use 2 different torrents for downloading but certain movies still end up with no sound..is it a copywrite thing? 2 examples are THE BUTLER and GRAVITY...have tried downloading many times from many different people..please help..thx

It would help us help you if you posted a link to a torrent which has the "volume tab crossed out" but, probably, they contain AC3 encoded audio--the codec for which isn't included by default on Windows PCs.

ty NIK,for answering me..not sure what you mean about posting a link to the torrent..i use utorrent and bitlord so far..so do I need to download a codec?,,if so how do I get it,sorry to sound so unskilled but I am...i got a new laptop for xmas and have windows 8.1 on it,and compared to my old laptop with a different system,this new 8.1 is very complicated..so if you can help,ty.

I don't know whether you need to download a codec because I don't know what movie you've downloaded--there are 656 different 'Gravity' torrents on TPB and 180 'the butler' torrents.

Post the URL/Address of the page you downloaded the movie from.
