My personal encode from the blu-ray came out to about 4.4 GB. Same settings I always use for movies: x265, 20 CRF.

I have never found some kind of app, other than the official rifftrax app, that will just let you sync this up and duck the movie audio on the fly. I do my mixes in Adobe. I know that's beyond some people, which is why I like to share a pre-mixed audio track that you can drop onto the video file of your choice. That shouldn't be beyond anyone who can google.

To those "requesting" called shot spec syncs:

1. Get the just the jokes mp3 and the VERY important READ ME file
   
2. Choose a program to extract the audio from the original movie file: VLC can do this and the instructions are widely available.
   
3. Open the extracted film audio in Audacity
   
4. Drag and drop the riff into Audacity beneath the original movie waveform.
   
5. Lock the main film audio.
   
6. Cut off the rifftracks welcome section (many paste this to the end of the track)
   
7. Slide the riff track left and right to correctly sync with the original track.
   
8. Use the timings given for the disembaudio cues to help line up the tracks.
   
9. If the riff audio has problems with syncing to your source, small cuts or silences may be necessary
   
10. Perform any wanted compression or other alterations to the tracks.
    
11. Duck
    
12. Render
    
13. Extract audio
    
14. Open MKVTool Nix (with GUI) and open the original movie file.
    
15. Drag and drop the audio version with riff in the sources (add .srt caption here if wanted)
    
16. Set riffed audio as default.
    
17. Check destination
    
18. Start Multiplexing
    

Note:  The are no paid programs in this process.

There are tutorials all over the web for all of this.

Any chance we can get a thread going featuring Rifftrax rips with file sizes under 1gb? Seems I'm not alone in asking this. It's been said multiple times beggars can't be choosers, and I of course appreciate all the hard work this community puts into some good ol piracy. But I've popped in here a few times to find a new rifftrax rip, only to see links for 3gb or 4gb uploads. Can we agree that lower quality options shouldn't be off the table?

Is it just me or do y'all use WAY too big movie rips? I'm fine getting a rifftrax fused to a smaller file-size 720p movie copy.

Not sure if this would be considered beating a dead horse or my 2 cents, but I think I'm just spoiled by the folks who can provide decent quality rips with mixed audio at manageable file sizes.  I've done a few for myself and know that it takes time and effort.  I appreciate everyone pitching in.

The work done to get the audio balanced, ducked, etc. is what blows me away. I remember the first RiffTrax fan mixes I downloaded years ago were murky as hell, unintelligible dialogue or inaudible riffing, out of sync with the visuals, with stepped on lines crosstalk and missed punchlines. The work uploaded here is mostly dvd quality. Superb. I would never want to sound ungrateful just because I'm not particularly a fan of large files.

we all agree. many exist, such as those created by BudgetBits (search and find them if they're what you want), so they're clearly not 'off the table'.

go ahead and get started on creating more and sharing them here. note that no one is telling you, or anyone else here, that doing so is 'off the table'. in fact, kitcastuff very helpfully provided some very good advice on getting started. you can either take his advice or take the hint that's been dropped your way more than once.
