downloading all of Lexis Nexis or Google Books

I love piratebay so much!

Maybe someone here is a member of anonymous, and maybe this will plant a seed in someone's head that knows how to do this:

It would be so incredible if someone were to break into Lexis Nexis online and take all of their magazine, law documents and newspaper articles and post all of their stuff on a torrent. We are talking about hundreds of thousands of documents.

Same with Google Books - there are hundreds of thousands of books scanned behind google's internet wall.

The same could be done with medical journals. This would actually help people, especially people in third world countries who cannot afford expensive subscription rates for medical articles.

Any of this would potentially give sharing a good name - particularly if someone could share medical journals.

tpb has a requests forum for this very reason.

instead of uploading everything in the world (that's a lot of effort, time and bandwidth)... people can just make requests for what it is that they want and other people who have access to it can upload it (that's a lot less effort, time and bandwidth).

thank you for the suggestion stormium! you are always so very helpful! Thank you for telling me about the request board - I will use it from now on.

I did not know the request board existed and if this this question was the proper place. This is not an average "request" - this is more a dream - a hope.

Requesting something takes a lot of time and more effort. Ideally we are all pushing for a world free of copyright? a world in which all of human knowledge can be found on the internet today? Hopefully someday that ideal becomes reality. Planting ideas like this hopefully like this helps a tiny, tiny bit. My hope is that someone with the hacker skills to pull this off, sees this post and thinks - "wow - this is possible - I can do this".
