can't get any torrents to dl
#1
I've tried dl movies/music, etc., but keep getting this message when I hit the "get this torrent" tab:

Firefox can't find the file at magnet:?xt=urn:btih:b92feb71aa270ba7503335f49a3f18c53e595774&dn=Adventures+of+Superman+1952+Complete+Series&tr=udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80&tr=udp://open.demonii.com:1337&tr=udp://tracker.coppersurfer.tk:6969&tr=udp://exodus.desync.com:6969.

And again, a search for music gives a similar message:

File not found

Firefox can't find the file at magnet:?xt=urn:btih:6319ffefe144695f1fc89d969a3c141653a7ab96&dn=Led+Zeppelin+-+A+Memory+Frozen+Forever+1980+(2CD,+2016)320ak&tr=udp://tracker.openbittorrent.com:80&tr=udp://open.demonii.com:1337&tr=udp://tracker.coppersurfer.tk:6969&tr=udp://exodus.desync.com:6969.

Any suggestions as to what I can do?

Firefox hasn't been told how to handle magnet links. It needs to know to pass those on to your torrent client.

How to do so depends on your torrent client. You can find lots of guides by searching the web for how to associate magnet links in Firefox.

I've never used magnetic links; never seemed to me, to be as easy. My torrent client is utorrent and although I've never had ant problems in the past, lately if I tried to dl more than one torrent, I'd get a message saying "A newer version is already running. Please shut down the current one." Sometimes, I'd get this message even when utorrent was off! I've looked at a few of the sites that you suggested for learning how to associate magnet links in Firefox; but get easily confused about the steps. Is there a guide out there for "Ultra Dummies"???   Huh

Not sure, but it sounds like you have two uTorrent installed and maybe one of them running in the background on your computer.

By default, the close button only "hides" uTorrent on the desktop, but uTorrent still running (see "taskbar / tray icon") until you click the "Exit" on the menu.

Try checking in the "Task Manager" and make sure only one process of uTorrent is running.

If the web browser can't handle magnet links, as an alternative you can copy the magnet link and add it to your torrent client.

Okay, I checked the task manager; no other versions of utorrent running. So, I re-enabled Internet Explorer and everything works fine now! I prefer Firefox over IE, BUT until I grow a better brain, I'll use IE only for utorrent downloads and Firefox for everything else!!! Wink  Thanks sooooooooooooooooooo much!
