I've got a serious case of anemoia so all my favorite celebrities come from a different era.
I really like, Bing Crosby, Barbara Stanwyk, Veronica Lake and Glenn Miller. Plus I love the Our Gang short films and Weazer (Bobby Hutchins) is my absolute favorite.
What are yours?

Joaquin Phoenix, Esther Povitsky, Kat Dennings, and Taylor Swift.
Yes, I am secretly a huge Swiftie. Taylor and I go way back and I am a crumpled-up piece of paper lyin' here in awe of her talent.

Bret "The Hitman" Hart, the former WWF wrestler and Sir Patrick Stewart, the legendary actor of Starfleet's best admiral, Jean-Luc Picard.

Obviously, I'll like almost all wrestlers because I'm into men with muscles. But, I've never really been a fan of Star Trek and Patrick Stewart seems to be a little too non-threatening for the role. Plus, I can't get over the British accent while pretending to be from France

To each his own.
I do understand the Frenchman with an English accent part though.
In Star Trek, many actors/actresses take roles that are not of their own nationality, like Harry Kim and Keiko Ishikawa O'Brien.
Yet, there is no equal of Patrick Stewart for Captain Picard, and never will be, in my humble opinion.

I'll tell you what.
I'll respect your David Bowie and Willhelm Defoe as long as you don't make fun of my love for Jack Benny and The Andrew Sisters.

Too many to mention at my age, I Must have watched thousands of movies with many great actors. Sometimes an actor can be your favorite and then they cast him or her in a different role that just doesn't click with their persona or whatever.
I will say there are a few that I like even less nowadays and those are the ones that think sharing their political opinions. Kinda like sharing your religious views just so your boss gives you a raise or another part in the next movie. Kinda puts a damper on a good movie when you recall them exorcising their propaganda views.
Keep it to yourself and we'll like you a lot more.

Great point. I think it may be a catch 22 for some of them. If they want to stay relevant or just "take a paying job" their artistic abilities are compromised because they are given shit roles to work with. And I hate these woke remakes of stuff just for inclusion or whatever propaganda soup of the day is to get a higher Q-rating.yeah... they don;t make em like they used to..
here are a few celebs that were part of my growing up/adult life that I can remember at this time
Christopher Reves
Robert Deniro
Sylvester Stallone
Arnold Schwarzenegger
LL Cool J
David Gilmour
Lane Staley (AIC as a whole)
James Ganfolfini (and some other cast membersI wouldn't otherwise put except their role in The Sopranos allows me to mention them here)
^^ in that instance, there are movies like Platoon, where the actors are good, but the role makes them epic and therefore, get an honorable mention for their roles (which is not really what you asked)
Rowdy Roddy Piper
Mike Tyson
again, I can go on, but these are top of the head people
