Question
hi friends,
I had recently taken admission i the college and several stuff is blocked in our college wifi.
we are able to access the blocked websites we had taken out formulas for that but the problem is that we are unable to use torrents I mean to say that we can download the torrent file but can't use them in bittorrent even if we load torrent in bittorrent/utorrent nothing happens no downloads & uploads.
and I want to add one more thing that it is possible to hack it and enable torrents on college wifi as one of the guy in our college is using it but he is not in a mood to tell anyone.
please help.

A campus network is a small, controllable environment. If you are able to bypass their blocks, they will still be able to detect the amount of downloading you're doing. Since they've gone out of their way to prevent you downloading, it is highly likely that they will do so, and that they will come down on you hard.

You seriously want to risk being expelled for the sake of a couple of movies? Do yourself a favor and do your downloading off-campus.

@ hammar, there are ways to hide the websites you visit by using VPN, but you cannot hide the amount of downloading you have done and obviously no one downloads educational E-books worth in GB's.

there are no T & C's regarding this in the college even without the torrents there is a huge amount of data transfer and i agree that no one will mind that in our college because they all are fucks they had already blocked everything like skype, counter strike etc. but then also we are using them from several months and we know that nothing is going to happen.

know one can do anything as there is no restriction on the amount of downloads we do.
no matters to them what we are downloading one of my friends laptop having the data usage of 600 GB's in 2 months and there are many with same data download statstics. we are downloading movies, games etc from the sources providing direct downloads.

and please now don't put this again that "the huge amount of downloads will put me in problem."
please put the solution it is possible man.

If you don't care that they will know what you are doing, then you have two choices: use a VPN or use a seedbox. A seedbox is probably the better of the two options, as it'll keep the majority of the activity off the network.

Neither option is free. If you are looking for a free option, you are out of luck.

There are some browsers that support .torrent files (may be some Apps). I think I had same problem some years ago & I used Opera (torch also works). And, I was able to download .torrent files. Try that one may it works anyways.
