audio problems when playing videos on windows 10
#1
Hey guys!

I have downloaded some movies and I don't think it is a torrent problem because all the movies that I played with VLC player tends to make a squeaking voice sound. It is hard to explain what it sounds like and when I play with some other players, it would look jerky but the movie plays well with VLC player, it is just making that annoying sound. I am not sure whether if this is my audio sound card problem or something else.

Go to Tools, Preferences, and Audio. There, test every item listed on the Output Module.

Hope this helps.

In the output module, it is currently set to automatic, do you want me to go through each option?

I don't think this is a vlc problem after all but it is also making the sound when I am watching youtube. I also did try to unplug the headphone and it is still making that squeaking sound occasionally.

Could be the drivers. Did you update them?

EDIT: You did make mention of Windows 10 at the topic. Was it like that before you upgraded to Windows 10? As I recall, Windows 8, 8.1, and 10 did funny things to hardware and drivers. I know, I'm grasping at straws, but it does seem to be an OS problem. Try reinstalling Windows 7 or whatever operating system you had before Windows 10.

If not, then look hard for updated device drivers.

EDIT: I'll ask around, some of my friends are "techies," so they may know where the right direction is. I'll also Google. You do the same.

Thanks! Appreciate your kind assistance. I will try to update my drivers to see if that will solve the problem

I have checked the drivers and they are updated.

I guess it's time to get another sound card to test.

See if a computer store has a refund policy on sound cards.

If someone has seen the series supergirl, can you tell me if you can hear any background noise? I downloaded this torrent:

I have got Realtek high definition audio and I would like to have your opinions as to whether is this a good sound card or not?
