I didn't mind it Robert.  I don't really do much other than just watch movies when I'm not busy working and doing things.  I did actually quite like the movie but I know that a lot of people hated it.  Don't forget though and a lot of people don't realise, the new Solo movie or Rogue One just belong to the Anthology Trilogy which isn't really the same as the Trilogy that follows the Original Trilogy.  The Original is where it all started but that was the middle bit of the story.  What you're seeing now with The Last Jedi is more the aftermath of the Original story.  IMO if it's not about the Force or people who are trained in the Jedi Arts then it's not really to do with it the same, the Main Saga is all about the Jedi people.  I have seen them all apart from Clone Wars and Solo: A Star Wars Story.  I think one of the very first movies I watched as a kid was the original Star Wars we would rent it out on VHS over and over.  I do like it I think it's a good story, I didn't rush to watch The Last Jedi I watched it after a while since it got released.  I don't really hate a lot of films I tend to enjoy most stuff it's only when something now and again, I find there's a movie here or there and it's just junk.  I might not watch it all if that's the case, might just turn it off.  Every now and again I usually find one or two but usually I enjoy most things.  There's so many I still haven't seen yet.

Star Wars used to be awesome and great in the beginning. The plots are more original and during those time, there is no Franchise thing, so the movies are more original. But these days, Star Wars movies aren't that interesting anymore, not original and lots of re-play sort of..

As for X-Men, and the Marvel Universe, I feel the movies are more interesting and lots of great special effects. Overall, I think Marvel and X-Men Franchises are doing great and they keep on adding more interesting projects and movies.

I agree it's all in the writing. That's where Marvel has DC beat. Better storylines and character development. Since we're all talking about fictitious characters who's plots can go any which way, that's the only difference I see. They chopped up Justice Leauge and took a good part of the meat and potatoes out of it. Marvel excels at storytelling.

I think DC and Star Wars are suffering the same fate. kinda like "let's churn out crap to compete, or to sell tickets" NOt really impressed with the Star Wars storyline... It ended with Revenge of the Sith... Now they are trying to cash in. What's next? Chewbacca's story of how the other wookies picked on him in 5th grade, so he trained to be the warrior he became??

It seems that Star Wars is winning at the moment. X-Men is failing. I'm quite surprised actually cause I thought they'd be neck and neck but Star Wars is well ahead and X-Men going absolutely nowhere, like nobody even gives a damn about X-Men right now. It is so strange I guess the people speak for the masses. Not what I thought it would be exactly but there ya go.

I'll let you know if anything changes with X-Men but as of right now Big X-Men flop. Looks like the current winning is Star Wars flying along into another galaxy near you lol

Personally the only franchise I want to see new movies from is Star Trek. I'm sick of all the super hero and comic book movies. Enough already. CGI and editing have ruined film. Screenwriters don't even try to write plots for these movies anymore. It's all just eye candy for 13 year old boys and men who are mentally still 13 year old boys.

Hollywood needs to focus on original screenplays with good writing, cast good actors, and hire good directors. Or do more book adaptations. But stop stretching short books out into multiple films (Mockingjay 1&2, Harry Potter 7 & 8, 3 fucking Hobbits????)

Hollywood is risk averse they know if they put out mediocre garbage like a 7th Pirates of the Carib movie they will make $500 million worldwide because most people are stupid and like brainless movies.
