Windows 8.1 Privacy Concerns
#1
Greetings,

Due to a Debian installation gone horribly wrong, my desktop no longer works with Windows 7. The drivers won't install properly for some odd reason. So, in an attempt of desperation, I'm going to try and install Windows 8.1 on it. Maybe it'll work.

If it does work, should I consider adopting it as my primary OS? I'm mostly concerned about any backdoors. I'm aware of SmartScreen, but could there be anything else? I really don't want to use a Microsoft OS anymore, but sometimes, you just have to. It's running Linux right now, but I miss playing my games. Sad

Any ideas?

That doesn't make so much sense.
Which Debian installation did you try?
Were you trying to dual-boot with W7?
What are the errors you are getting installing W7?
