If you are using an older Western Digital HD Live Mediaplayer, it is recommended that you do the following:

1. check for any firmware updates (and if they exist)
It could be your device has outdated firmware, and can't play the MP4 because of it.
MP4 is a container file, so the audio and video types can differ.

2. Try to run the video file on your PC, using VLC media Player
If the player can run the file, then the device might be too old, and you may need to upgrade
to a newer model.

Thanx.
I've updated the unit and the movie also worked using VCL on my pc.. so I guess its outdated. Pitty! :-(

one thing you can do is to convert the file to something older like a non h264 encoded file or just download a non h264 copy: https://thepiratebay.se/torrent/9772783/...XviD-RARBG and download the subtitles separately. there are a few different swedish subs for this movie.

Thanx! Need the subtitlefile be exactly the same "name" as the moviefile? (Execpt for the file extension that is).

you can just rename one of the swedish sub files; the timing should be okay.

I use nero mediahome to stream things from my computer to my LG bluray. It works great, but I had problems trying to stream using WMP. It just wouldn't work for some files, because WMP sucks balls, so all I did was to change the extension of the files from 'whatever.mp4' to 'whatever.avi' using just the rename function in windows and they worked fine while streaming, though WMP still wouldn't play them. No actual conversion of the files or anything needed, just a simple rename. You could try that. Some players will play a stream that a media player won't recognize for some reason.

Your player could be outdated too though.
