Which VPN Providers Take Anonymity Seriously?

Just one more question, I promise.

If I enable port-forwarding, is it necessary to tell the router that and put your internal IP?

Nope. It is for this reason that people without admin access to routers will often use a VPN to forward ports.

Don't worry, you can keep asking questions. It is quite fun.

Well, my router is configured to change internal IPs for each computer once in a while.

Do I have to watch out for that?

EDIT: In addition, is paying through Paypal risky when it comes to VPNs? I hear Paypal is taking out accounts that pay VPN fees.

OpenVPN is the most secure way to use a vpn, ipred allows users to pay via bitcoin if you are worried about ppal, however its not the easiest payment method for sure

Thanks, demons.

I've been considering using VPNs, and found these discussions to be helpful.

I won't bore you with pointless questions and will just ask PIA directly.

demons, if you like, just lock this thread before I get tempted to ask another pointless question. Smile

OK, then.

Even with VPN access, what kinds of precautions have you taken in regards of downloading?

Thanks, demonS, System Folder, and all that made me feel welcome to ask.

This is a stickied thread on VPN recommendations. Respect the topic please.

Ask questions by all means but do so in an appropriate place ie. a new or existing thread about general precautions.

You have to remember that VPN providers may change their terms and conditions including privacy notice at any time, especially those in North America who either claim not to keep logs (they in fact might so you have to read their tos) or might be forced to legally. By the time you get your official notice from the VPN provider, your info may have been already been provided to a third party.  For that reason, only pay on a month to month basis.  Always go for a VPN provider that has a money back guarantee or free trial too.
