I would say that all we can do is just wait and see if they get it done.
I'ts do early to start thinking about because you can't to anything. Sad

Maybe praying is a thing you can do ...

It's bring back some bad memories.
When that happen, i still live in my country and busy preparing my thesis. I had relatives live there before they gone one by one the entire family. The last one was my cousin. He finally gave up his life couple months ago. Our emergencies drill are consider best regarding tsunami, earth quake, lava eruption and all kind of natural disaster but at that time, nothing prepared for that kind of disaster.
International aid and Japan government are working hard just by looking on hows it going nowadays since many scientist said it could be worse.
Last i heard from home, they are doing their best.

I would disagree with the sentiment that there is nothing you can do and not much that you can know - leaving it in the hands of the authorities to wait and see..

I think the question more is, do you want to know - and do you want to help?

Nearly 3 years later, families are still living in shelters, volunteers are still giving up their lives to help and the govt/ and the corporations are holding up and slowing down the information.

I'd highly rec this doc for info on the current impact on people, and some of the shocking truth;

How about this instead?
Is there anyone here that lives in Japan? Perhaps they can give us more information or perhaps if they live close enough, take some photos?

The problem I'm having with this is the complete lack of good information.

I am a long term resident of Japan. I have been to Fukushima since the disaster and seen it first hand. I am involved in an ongoing supportive way to the disaster effort.

If you're honestly there I think it would be great if you could provide us with some news that isn't 'corporate'. It's getting hard to find out the truth these days

Indeed - I live in Japan and have seen the devastation with my own eyes. I am no scientist but I know more than the average person who lives here. I won't go to any further steps to unmask my anonymity. So, believe it or not.

I would still heartily suggest watching the documentary I linked above. Nothing nutty at all about the reporting - people are being coerced into allowing huge plastic bags of radiation to be buried in their front yards.
