What scares you?
#1
Do you have an rational or irrational fear of the dark?

When you go to bed do you always check the room before feeling safe?
Do you check under the bed or in the wardrobe?
Is darkness something you dread especially being alone in the dark?
Unnatural fear of the boogie man?

Discuss it here in a boogie man free environment/thread.

To me the one thing I don't like about the dark is the spiders seem to come out more I know it's because the nights are drawing in and the nights have already started to get longer, longer nights equals more darkness. On the other hand I live in a small village and like walking my dog's when its dark, first think in the morning about 5.30 - 6am the world sleeps while I'm out in the darkness.

Is there a boogie man waiting for you when it gets dark or no such thing?

A fear of the dark doesn't just plague little kids; many adults suffer from a fear of the dark, too, so there’s no need to be embarrassed about your fear, no matter what age you are.

The trick to ending your fear of the dark is adjusting your perspective and working to make your bedroom feel like a safe, welcoming place — even when the lights are out.

Thats good bob but some are, think about people who get scared for lots of reasons. Some people get scared when they see snakes and spiders. They might be afraid that they could be bitten. Some people get scared by heights. They might be afraid that they could fall and get hurt. Some people are afraid of balloons. Maybe a balloon popped right in their face when they were young, and they don't want that to happen again.

Bob this doesn't apply to you others might get scared in the dark for some of these same reasons. Put yourself into their mindset then you might be afraid that you will trip and fall and get hurt because you can't see where you are going. You might be afraid that something you can't see will jump out and startle you. It might just be fear of the unknown. It could be a combination of things.
