What do you do when you see a torrent you uploaded being re-uploaded by a VIP user? A lot of work went into that torrent and to see it copy and pasted almost word for word leaves me smh...don't mean to sound petty or anything I just don't know how to react. I mean is it cool to do this? It hasn't happen to any of my other torrents and I wouldn't be OK with me doing this to someone else...any insight would be most appreciated

To be honest if you also upload on other file sharing site and torrent site and you upload there first since those site probably are indexing from tpb and you want to avoid that, it will bound to happen since couple vip are probably use those site also as their source.
Before i know torrent, i usually upload my file and post to couple of file sharing sites. That sites are being used by some uploader from couple of private tracker as a source. The funny thing that happen to me was this, couple of my old files that i upload there long time ago are being re upload to private trackers by couple of uploaders from those trackers, and after that it being picked from those private trackers by VIP and then reupload here.
I don't mind that. Why? Because We can't control it since we actually not own the copyright owner coz we are pirate "sharer" eventough we bought that particular file . Still, there's an honor among "sharer" by not re-tagging but we also can't control that. I never put tag to all my files that i share on private, therefore i can't say they are retager.
Well, for what is worth, they probably don't know that you are the main sources and not taking the file directly from you and reupload here since it would be a bold move. I guess, you uploaded that on other site that they also used as their source or uploader on their site use your site as their resource
I can only suggest you one thing, don't bother with this since the reason we share are for the shake of the sharing spirit itself yes? What else since we actually gain nothing by sharing. Well we actually spent some for seedbox and good vpn just for people to get our files.
Also the main thing why i put my file to tpb, because it will stay on tpb forever if there aren't any malfunction like server error etc. If someone already put here first, be my guest. But that doesn't mean you can't put your own file to tpb also.

ps : hope you can catch what i mean with my broken English also you probably need to start tagging your own files
Nice discography btw, I see why you upset there. If you start tagging, since your upload are unique, if someone retagg that, it will be easy to recognize.

Thanks for your response...a friend of mine just informed me of what its called "tagging and dumping" I never heard of it but have seen some comment wars in the past...anyways thanks again and btw your English is not broken...

Do NOT get drawn into ANY conversation. If things escalate to the point where mod intervention is required, then slaps are usually delivered to both sides. There is no point getting yourself in shtuck over someone else's bad behaviour.

Also, only do anything if it's an original torrent. If someone reuploads a torrent from a third party, which you had reuploaded previously, you have no cause for any complaint whatsoever.

Thanx Nik Some of them are FLAC and APE conversions but most are rips from my home collection and as to leaving flaming comments...its just not my style (he knows what he did) but if he re-tags another UL of mine I will kindly remind him that I wouldn't do that to him...thanx again for you responses

I do my best to only upload stuff that...

A) Hasn't been uploaded to TPB before.
B) isn't seeded at all.
C) or is a lesser format (upload FLAC when only MP3 is available)

I wouldn't really care if it got re-uploaded; I'd be grateful honestly. At some point or another, my torrents will no longer be seeded so its good that people take an interest to share the material.
