After watching/listening to downloads, I delete them if I don't want to keep them, and store the ones I want to keep on a hard drive for future use. I don't see the point really in shoving downloads onto media like discs because you end up with a house full of clutter in the form of plastic storage boxes of one kind or another. Something I do with some downloads, like full TV show seasons is to transfer them to a usb stick, so I can share it with my afk friends/family by transfering it onto their computers. Piracy, or making copies of files and then sharing them, isn't wrong. It's only wrong if you're one of those Hollyweird types who think filecopyers are criminals, which we're not. We make copies, not steal the original article. Just saying.

I think the reason I like to burn discs, as well as keeping a file copy onto the hard drive, is that I like to emulate a library.
Libraries are my favourite places because they give me ideas on how to archive and store stuff. I like to fantasise about that stuff.
Unfortunately, I am moving and I need to minimise my DVD accumulation. It doesn't mean I need to destroy them, just keep it minimal. Oh well, again, to each his own.

Audio:
Playing many times then deleted most of them, except for some of my favorite artist will stay for a while in my harddisk, may be many months or many years
Video:
Watching once or twice then deleted.
Applications:
Install on my OS untill i get new stable version. I keep the earlier version, maybe in the future my friends need copy of my softwares collection.
Games:
Download some games because of my friends request, rarely try on my own PC. Ever been curious to try one racing game, maybe that's a game I liked until now.
Porn:
Same like video, watching then deleted.
Other:
I read Books or Magazines, if the contents is useful, i have prepared a folder to save it.
Collecting some images for my desktop wallpaper.
I've also ever make backups of all my downloads to CD or DVD , but now very rarely do that. most of which still I backup only the OS installers, hardware drivers and some of useful applications.

Can I have a share of your porn?
So you're a minimalist?

Movies and TV Shows I'll keep a few external drives attached to a dedicated Plex machine. I'll only delete once I'm running out of space or I haven't watched in a long time and have no plans of doing so any time soon. I collect learning material such as eBooks, and audio courses from TTC and TMS. Those I won't ever delete.

Do you guys stack your hard drives on top of each other or something?
If one of your HDDs are full , would you just buy another HDD, suck the data from the full HDD and put it away in storage?

When im getting full on one ill just buy another. I should just save and buy a NAS but im impatient and lazy. It's so much easier just to go pick up a 1-2 TB external HDD. But someday when I do get around to spending some money and time on a network attached storage, ill fill my current external drives with all my important stuff such as eBooks and learning material and store them in a closet somewhere just in case.

A combination of the two. I keep movies and TV shows on hard drives because I use Emby on my 360 and like browsing through all the covers and reading plots, checking synopses, etc.
With my movies/music/books to back them up I keep them on 2 drives. You get to save half as much content due to the redundancy, by it's way less time consuming that burning it all to data discs.
With TV shows I do burn them as data-dvds after I've watched them to free up drive space since most hardware can read files, which saves the hassle of transcoding by authoring a dvd.
