VPN Router recommendation
#1
Hi all!
Not being a very tech savvy user, I am hoping someone might give me a recommendation for a good modem WiFi router with built in capacity for VPN.
Preferably one best suited for an native english speaker in China. Not sure if that raises further difficulties.

Thanks in advance!!

Cheers!

PS: VPN recommendation would also be great, also. Currently using ExpressVPN but not very happy with speed I am getting.

Not sure what router to suggest for your needs, but as for a VPN, you should check out BTGuard.

This might be a good place to start looking for a router -----> http://www.made-in-china.com/products-se...outer.html

I'd use any Asian located VPN. They are more likely to say blow me to any foreign government asking for your IP.

I'm assuming you're using one for a reason

If just to access a blocked website, BTGuard is the very best in my opinion. A measly $4 bucks a month and you get access to a Canadian IP, Singaporean IP and a British IP. So one from each "relevant" continent.
Speed is great, very fast internet access (been using it to play North American mmorpgs with no issues). Only downside is that it is a bit tricky to install if you have no clue what you're doing, but, it has a guide with pretty pictures.

For free VPNs I'd try the Anonymous Proxy.

I personally use pfSense - though I did use DD-WRT in the past. With pfSense, I have an OpenVPN connection setup as an alternative gateway. I use LAN firewall rules to determine which devices, networks, and or ports to route through the VPN gateway vs. my default gateway. If you have an old computer hanging around, it's quite easy to setup.

Try Netgear Nighthawk R7000. I personally don't use a router with built in VPN capacity but I have heard a lot about it from VPN providers

I would say the ASUS RT-AC68U, I bought this one a few months ago and it is, in every way, a kick-ass router.
