Urgent Help: Can't get my own torrent to seed
#1
Yesterday I decided to try my hand at this whole torrenting thing and make a torrent of my own for the first time. It was quite simple to create the file and I had a bit of trouble uploading it on to the Pirate Bay, but I got it eventually. Anyways, now that it's uploaded and all I thought I didn't have to do anything else because I read a forum post that said so, but something seemed off. So I decided to try and seed the torrent. I downloaded the torrent from the Pirate Bay, changed the download location, and force rechecked it (just in case) but still nothing. Just the Downloading 0.0% that's been haunting me. I swear I've tried everything, but I must've missed something. Can someone please help me fix this?

Client: Deluge 1.3.15
libtorrent: 1.0.11.0

Here are all my settings in case you need them: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/132yoi19thhrb...9kska?dl=0

Here is my torrent link: https://thepiratebay.org/torrent/18735358/Supernatural_All_Seasons_S01-S13_720p

Testing now, you're right it's NOT downloading.
One thing I noticed in you settings, you have the queue set to STOP
seeding at a 1:1 ratio, that will not work for a initial seed, set that to unlimited.

You mentioned you changed the download directory, not sure what or why,
but never change anything about the torrents contents once the file is created.
If you change as much a one character in a single text the hash would change
and a new torrent file has to be made.

Does your client have a 'No connections" warning at the bottom of the screen?
Can YOU download other torrents, do THEY seed?

Okay, I fixed the 1:1 ratio thing, but it didn't help.

Also, by the download location I meant I showed my client where the files are on my computer so that it can see I already have them downloaded and it'll seed instead of download.*

My client doesn't have any warning at the bottom of the screen or really anywhere on the screen.
And yes, I can download other torrents and they seed.

*I meant this option when you add a torrent. http://tinypic.com/r/316ot52/9

I have a copy of deluge running here, I use for backup.
Your settings look similar except you have your Max slots & connections very high,
that would not prevent seeding.
My guess is it's something about that particular torrent, since others will seed.

Could you have started off with something bigger? LOL.
You could try creating a a new torrent to upload, maybe just one season?
BTW the way everyone is getting those empty files errors these days, you
have to just keep trying till it goes.

If you do try another upload post the link here so we can test it.

Okay, I tried one with just season 1 although it seems to be doing the same thing as the last one.

On your latest upload I am seeing '1' seed BUT I see no file size OR files in my client.
You first torrent shows '0' seeds, but all the files are showing and the size as 107GB.

Edit: Your gonna kick yourself when you figure this out.
It always seems to be something real obvious.

Edit: Just noticed you named the second torrent the SAME!
needs to be unique.

I know, that's what's bugging me the most. It's probably just gonna be some random switch I accidentally hit in the settings or something.

It's so odd, I don't even see any seeders just the one peer that is you. And the files are fine within the torrent file because I checked them on this site https://www.tools4noobs.com/online_tools...nt_decode/ so that doesn't make sense either.

Also, I named the first one "Supernatural" on the torrent file and "Supernatural All Seasons S01-S13 720p" on tpb. The second one I named "Supernatural Season 1" on the torrent file and "Supernatural Season 1 - 720p" on tpb.

I removed both torrents & tried the second one again.....
..and I received NO torrent file!
But, my client did get the entry.
That is; there is NO file in my torrent dir! That's a first!

My guess is it's not your client, but something in you directory structure
and how you are creating the new torrent.

I use uTorrent 2.2.1 to create mine.
All my files are in sub directories of C:/downloads
All my torrent files go in C:/downloads/torrents

Hmm I guess it's worth a shot to just try and copy your processes. I'll get right on that and let you know how it goes.

Is your torrent in a sub folder in downloads? Try opening the torrent from that sub directory.
