Trouble with Connecting a Three-Pin Power LED Connector to the Motherboard
#11
Robert, you really shouldn't write threads on here if you can't answer them properly, people on here are only trying to help you and they are busy including me sorting their own lives out.  A lot of people don't have much time to deal with the likes of you we all sort our own problems out instead of asking for silly help all the time when you're not prepared to be open minded about it.  This is a public forum and people can come and answer here at their own free will.  For somebody to be given the reply that they have a shitty attitude is not really the way to go about these things.  With me being a IT qualified for over 20 years person then I don't see this as being very intelligent discussion really.  My advice to you is go and learn something at college and stop being a douche.  If you knew what you was doing you wouldn't need to write these stupid threads all the time.  Now it's probably upto a mod to remove a lot of this discussion because of what your stinking attitude is like, not mine.

Just cos things aren't going your way, just cos you can't afford a decent machine, the only person to blame is you for not making a decent living and affording decent parts that you need.

Next time before you write some kind of dumb thread at least first think about that people might want to give you sensible answers and with it all being public then I guess people could say all sorts of things.

This is getting funny. A douche? Really?

I did all the checking up before I write threads here. I do not write threads for fun.

But really, if you don't want to answer back, or if you're really "tired" at my attitude, you should leave it alone; I wasn't exactly calling you at 3AM in the morning to answer my problems. If you want to put all that 20-or-so years of IT learning, then you're welcome. There is no mandate to answer anyone's "silly threads," so have your pizza and fuck off.

Just so you know, the situation is this: one of my front panel connectors have one (remember your 1st grade lesson?) one more female slot and, thus, is too long to fit on the front panel male connects that are on the motherboard that I'm planning to buy. I looked at the instructions for the mortherboard because i want to take the initiative and anticipate all problems that may arise. And, no, there are no adapters; if there were, I would have found that information out before writing this "stupid" post.

Like you said, it's a public forum, Rodney, you can eat your pizza and fuck off, and I can post what I want as long as it doesn't violate posting rules.

I don't know what you're smoking either, I didn't blame anyone. If you think I should blame myself, then by all means, do it, just remember one thing: I can make "stupid posts." Learn to read closely, please.

Well, I'm not going to help Void this thread for other's F.Y.I., so, despite being called a "wanker" and a "village idiot" by the likes of you, I'm not going to continue this flame war.

Q91: No, I didn't mean that the case part of the front panel needs another pin, it has another pin, that was my dilemma. I was finding a way to get around that problem. According to the motherboard map on said manual, the motherboard has a 10-1 motherboard connector, which brings up my problem: the panel wire (which has three female slots) cannot fit. I'd buy the motherboard and see, but means it's a big gamble. If the male pins of motherboard part is one pin too short, then I'm screwed. Do you understand now?

LEDs have 2 pins; 3 or more means a multi-function or multi-color device, and some computers use diferent colors for low batt, turbo, or other modes.
If you don't need that, use just two pins/wires.

- Identify the positive/negative wires with a multimeter (LEDs are just like any normal diodes) but be careful to use low voltage DC and a resistor, unless your meter has a special "diode test" mode.

- Replace the conector for a 2-pin model or just use an adaptor like RYP said, careful not to mix the wires (+) (-).

PS: As you said there're no adapters, it's like make one yourself from spare parts.

Well, I have a solution (or my friend rather) : I had to cut the middle prong of the LED connector in half with a scissor, the one without the wire lead. Was shaking my boots the whole operation, but I did it.

Now, when I plunk stuff on a purchased motherboard, I'll have adjust to adjust each piece of the LED wire into the motherboard such that the two halves aren't touching each other.

I was going to suggest that "jury rig" improvisational approach but was afraid to be ill-seen, especially if the consequences were catastrophic.
Let's see when the whole thing is assembled.

I know. I was nervous.

Of course, that wasn't my idea; rather, it was someone who suggested it in one of the forums I go to.

I took a big risk considering that if I fuck something up on that case, I'd probably have to a new one.

You have to understand, I don't want to shell out my savings (was going to type fortune, but fortune had nothing to do with it).

You are very strange really but you really do need to control that temper of yours because it is very embarrassing especially on here of all places.

The turn this thread is taking, maybe it should be moved to the porn forum. I got such a boner reading this, and it's hard like LED.
