Syncing out of sync subtitles Inspector Lynley series

The subtitles are all at that site. I was just downloading them as I needed them. The principal difficulty is that the Diana Rigg intro is not included in the video files, but IS included in the subtitle files, thus throwing everything out of whack.

In the meantime, I have found another site here with files that purport to include the subtitles with the Diana Rigg intro. I am currently downloading Season I to verify this claim. You will find it here:

what is keeping you from deleting the intro from the subs?
you don't even need a subtitles program for that, you can do it with a notepad.

I tried that, but, if I remember correctly, they didn't stay deleted. I think they showed up a later point in the video than they did the first time. But it's precisely those fine adjustments I can't handle. Anyway, I appreciate your input.

I really need a "Timing for Dummies" manual. Ironically, that seems to be what you refer me to at the end of your instructions, but that merely compounds the problem. Basically, I can only function with all the technology contained in one click.

Well, I'd not really call that a "beginners guide" It's intended for folks going serious about anime fansub timing. It's not easy, so no shame in not getting that part...

OK, that's my academic caution. After "deleting" the intro lines, I found they showed up later in the video than they did the first time. At first, I thought my alterations had eliminated the subtitles, but they were simply moved along in the timestream.

Of course, it can't -- if it's been properly deleted. Obviously, I screwed up because I didn't really know what I was doing.

select/highlight the "bad" lines and hit the delete button. simple and effective.
