Streaming doesn't work
#1
Anyone figure out how to use Torrents Time? I'm rather puzzled seeing as TPB hasn't even made a blog post about the new feature.

I installed it, closed my browsers, rebooted my computer, and nada. Clicking a stream button just queries for the setup download once more. I see a TTService.exe program running under Task Manager.

Anyone have a similar issue and figure out how to fix it?

Thanks!

Perhaps the torrent you want to stream is not seeded?

It most definitely is. I've tried several of the most popular torrents. I'm thinking that maybe there is a browser plugin which did not install. I don't see anything related to Torrents-Time in my browser plugins or add-ons. The TTService is running with SYSTEM privileges so I sort of doubt it is a permissions issue.

I've tried both FF and Chrome. Using ABP to block ads but turning on/off doesn't do anything.

Yes, it's probably a plugins issue. I don't have a computer to investigate the problem right now, but I'll be back as soon as I get one (of course, if someone comes with the solution within this time)

Ok. I'm on a computer now. I downloaded TT. Here's my point:

TTService.exe is a Windows service (in case you have linux, you're screwed) used by Torrents-Time, which with some scripts it simply bootstraps the address of the torrent you want to stream without any add-on or extension. It should work on any browser without any problems, as the entire mechanism is done with javascript and TT background processes.

I ran into some tests and the problem you described occurred to me when:
1. I tried to stop TTService from task manager and computer management; TTService.exe cannot be stopped ordinary (don't know why. Ask the developer.). If any attempt to kill the process is made, it will break and will remain in RAM until you turn off your computer.
2. Two instances of TTService.exe were running.

Things you can try:
1. Uninstall TT, reboot you computer and install it again
2. Disable add-blockers. And others extensions (some scripts might interfere)

I can't think at other reasons/methods right now. If it still doesn't work, hard luck Confused

I'm running Mac OS 10.8.5; Safari 6.0.5; Firefox 44.0

Unfortunately, Stream It! (Beta) does not work at all. I click on it and I get a blank page.

Please advise.

Thank you.

@stephentan
Blank page means the streaming feature is not compatible with you browser/OS. Try Chrome browser instead: https://support.google.com/chrome/answer/95346?hl=en-GB
